so, i'm just trying to keep up, if a suspected terrorist simply goes through your country on his way to do terror, like bush said they did in iran, that's all it takes to kick off another war?

we are only as stupid as our leaders allow us to be.

1. OK...
The terrorists passed through Canada and probably Japan. When do we invade those two countries?

4. If we invade Canada, it would only be a continuation of plans...
that have been around pretty much the entire history of the United States. Even during the Revolutionary War, there were plans to annex Canada.

21. again -- please -- NO terrorist passed through Canada
This chestnut just won't die, will it?

None of the Sept. 11 terrorists entered the US from Canada.

Even the US govt says so:

http://usembassy.state.gov/guatemala/wwwhpgterrmexcane.html

Washington File
05/21/2002
EXCERPT: REPORT CITES CANADIAN AND MEXICAN COUNTERTERRORISM COOPERATION
(North America overview of 2001 "Patterns of Global Terrorism")

... The report notes the support of Canada and Mexico in the aftermath of the September 11 terrorist attacks and reiterates that media allegations that the terrorists passed through Canada or Mexico to enter the United States were erroneous.

2. If only they had sent Iranians they they would be safe.
Apparently it's OK to send terrorists like Saudi Arabia you just can't let them travel through your country.

7. You're in a world of shit, xocolatl!
The US has got WMD's, a fraudulently elected governing party, appalling human rights record, history of supporting terrorism in Central America and the Middle East. Christ, you've even got a leader who has personally authorised executions.

Frankly, I think the world would be better off without your murderous dictator and just as soon as I can haul a Coalition of the Willing together, we're going to come over and initiate some regime change!

11. Bomb Florida!
some of the terrorists lived and trained in flight schools in Florida. I believe a pre-emptive strike is in order, starting with Tallahassee and moving southward.
We have to show these people that we mean business!

18. That won't work
just remember, the "MOAB" was tested in Florida but there was no regime change. Perhaps that's the reason why it wasn't used in Iraq?

5. Hmmm....
This looks like one of those build-up stories to me. There were lots of little stories like this about Iraq in early 2002.

The key quote for me was, "There is no evidence that Iran helped the terrorists" which rather suggests that your chaps at the CIA are waiting for society's drones to slap their foreheads and shout, "no evidence? let's get in there and find evidence."

Cue Fox News special on the humanitarian crisis in Iran, lack of democracy, Islamo-fascism etc....

Am I getting ahead of myself here?

6. They entered the US many times and resided for years, and were
never hindered. They could even be found at US military installations - Mohammed Atta, for instance, at the International Officer's School at Maxwell Air Force Base.

Applying the same standard which supposedly establishes Iran's culpability, what does that say?

8. Remember that Iraq (or more accurately,Saddam Hussein) had the
intenet to manufacture WMD's.That was enough to cause the deaths of 10000 or more civilians.Even Hitler at his most brazen best, never stooped to claiming that he could divine the intenet of another person.

10. So we are to blame because they came in here? Is this logic 101?
Oh it is GOP logic, like you can not believe a newspaper if it brings bad news.

12. We have to be thorough about this then
Remember that picture of Atta boarding his plane on 9/11?

I reckon they could laser guide some sort of missile into Logan and take out that gate.

13. Dude, it's all about the 'ties'!
Now they can say Iran and Al Qaeda have 'ties'! What are 'ties', what sort of 'ties' are they, and why do 'ties' justify war? Don't expect to get any answers to those questions--our media will simply repeat whatever is said at them. Analysis is too strenuous a task.

14. No. No. No. Only if you're poor, brown and have no military
They can criss-cross other countries as they please. In America we welcome and nurture terrorists. We invite them to train in our military facilities. We hire them to do our nasties for us.

17. Well ONLY if the intent was to invade & destroy since January 20, 2001 and
you were looking for the lamest and flimsiest excuses and with the all but lost election looming, you do whatever it takes to fulfill your promises to halliburton.
