I like their ten key values, and think that their agenda is good for the US.
Unlike Ralph Nader, the Greens do not take corporate money, and have rejected funding from republicans with ulterior motives. This display of integrity is highly commendable, IMO. I recognize that the Democratic Party needs to take corporate funding in order to campaign effectively under our current system, and hope that after John Kerry is elected, that the Democratic Party will make a genuine attempt to institute an egalitarian public campaign finance system.
If the Democratic Party does not make a serious attempt to take effective action, circumstances permitting, to address issues critical to the maintenance and improvement of our democracy and take logical action to solve critical social and economic problems after John Kerry is elected, I will seriously consider joining and supporting the Green Party. And I have never voted for anyone but a Democrat in my entire life.
This public statement by David Cobb reinforces my belief that the Green Party places the best interests of the people of the US over ideology and party partisanship.
The Greens are displaying a great deal of insight, intelligence, and plain old common sense, and these are qualities that our country needs in our leadership.
