My TRAGIC realization!
I just realized at the current rate of American deaths in Iraq, currently 896. At this rate we will see 1000 U.S. military deaths by Nov.2. I hate this government. We should make sure when this happens there is a huge outcry.

1. You're right.
At this rate, it'll happen sometime in late September or early October.

2. Even more tragic
by November 2 we will have seen the deaths of over 12,000 innocent Iraqis..

Everyone in our military volunteered. They knew the risks. The Iraqi citizens did not volunteer for this, they did not ask for this nor did they do anything to deserve this.

3. And the median age was what in 2001?
The CIA factbook says it's estimated to be 19 now.

4. Just because our troops volunteered ...
does not mitigate their loss in a needless war. The military trusts the civilian leadership to start wars only when absolutely necessary. - The loss of innocent Iraqis is equally tragic.
- BTW, if we did not have volunteers, there would be universal service or the draft.

5. Multiply that by the fact that a WAR was not necessary.
This was a country without an army, navy, or airforce, that had NO capability to fight back.

It was a complete slaughter....with guns a blazin...and it will be quite some time before you hear the real truth about friendly fire deaths.

But here's the real problem.
NONE of these men had to die in the first place.

They were sent to their death by an admin that felt this war was a "slam dunk"...that it was "doable"....

Therefore...these lives were considered ACCEPTABLE loses....and easily put into perpective by the American people when compared to NAM or whatever.

For me...that makes matters 1000 times worse. I view these deaths as the equivalent of entering a lottery sweepstakes for "a better more profittable Middle East"....and if your number comes up....

YOU'RE DEAD
