Log Cabin Republicans haven't endorsed Bush
Good news from the Washington Times.

Feature: Gay Republicans' big-tent revival

"At this time the Log Cabin Republicans have yet to endorse the re-election of President George W. Bush.

The Bush administration has managed to offend the LCR by not only supporting a constitutional ban on gay marriage but also campaigning for its enactment. Now it appears as if Bush has jeopardized the 1 million votes he received from his gay constituency in the 2000 election."

--------

A million votes, eh? Oh how I hope there are lots of them in swing states. :D

4. I'll be shocked if Florida's not lost to us
I'm sure Jebbie's cooking up a new scam, since he got busted trying to recycle the purge from 2000.

I'm just glad there are no other states governed by any members of the bu$hco crime syndicate!

3. I would seriously question their sanity if they did.
This President hates us gay people so much, he can't even get himself to mention the words "gay, lesbian or homosexual". We're a threat to the "American way of life", but he can't acknowledge we exist?

This administration is the enemy of the gay community. Period.

5. Since I am not gay, I have a difficult time
understanding the Log Cabin Republicans. Apart from fiscal conservatism, what other principles do they share with other mainstream Repubs? Why do they stay affiliated with a political party that pretty obviously doesn't want them around?

7. As explained by...
My dear friend and wise mentor, The Gay Episcopal Priest(and he ain't shy none about it, neither...):

There are a couple of things in play in this "Gay Republican" phenomenon.

1. Gays, from old money and lives of privilege. Add to that gays who have attained a level of real wealth. There exists, in the gay community, a strata that is very elitist, very wealthy and very discriminatory towards everyone who Just Ain't Them. This is not to say that such a position is universal. It is not. But they are there, they exist, and they wield considerable economic clout. They vote repuke on a purely economic self-interested basis.

2. This dovetails with the above: Self-Loathing. Part of that is expressed by incredible distaste towards the larger gay population, whom they consider coarse rabble.

When these people go to the polls and pull any repuke lever, they are whistling past the graveyard.

6. The fact that they're Repubs says it all.
I'm glad they haven't endorsed him. Don't get me wrong. But Bush is not doing anything that isn't already part of the Republican platform (official or unofficial). The fact that they are registered Republicans has aided Bush tremendously so far.
