6 Ohio Counties will be using DRE Voting machines in Nov.
Edited on Tue Jul-20-04 02:59 PM by MiddleMen
Not sure if anyone has posted this before, but I just got off the line with someone from the Ohio Secretary of State office so I thought I would pass it along. I will cross post this in the Ohio forum.

As you probably heard the purchase of new diebold systems was delayed until after the November elections. However, 6 counties already use Direct Recording Electronic (DRE) voting machines and will continue to use them until the state purchases new machines in 2005 with paper ballots.

the counties are:
Franklin - Danahur (http://www.controls-online.com/gvs/vs.html)
Ross - Microvote (http://www.microvote.com/)
Pickaway - Microvote
Mahoney - ES&S (http://www.essvote.com/HTML/home.html)
Knox - Microvote
Lake - Sequoia (http://www.sequoiavote.com/)

1. Add BBV to your headline if it's not too late
but I will give your thread a bump as I haven't seen this info yet. Thanks for making the call to the SOS office. Keep the pressure on by everyone, and we will win this Nov. :kick:

2. Sounds like a law suit in the making

Using the 2000 Supreme court ruling as precedent all counties have to use the same voting style or it is discriminatory.
