Hands off my Constitution! |
|
Is there anything the Republicans are NOT going to try to tack onto the end of the Constitution? Gay Marriage Restrictions, Flag Burning Restrictions. . . it's getting obnoxious. How about an amendment to the Constitution that says that no amendment to the Constitution may be put forth simply for the purposes of circumventing other parts of the Constitution?

1. That wouldn't be a particularly good idea.... |
|
since just about every ammendment is intended to do that in one way or another. "The Constitution does not currently say something and now we want it to" is what an ammendment is for.
Just vote it down if you don't like it. They'll look foolish.
OR be happy with some people not being able to vote?
Or counting as 3/5 of a person?
etc.etc.etc

3. Not to mention trashing the Bill of Rights |

Now, nothing sends me into a fit of rage, faster than this flag burning amendment. It's been out there for over a decade -- and I can't quite wrap my mind around the logic.
I realize that it's just a shot to protesters of the military industrial complex, but do they not see how passing an amendment not to burn the flag mocks what the flag stands for, far worse than any protester ever could?
GOP stupitity at its finest.
