2. Sorry I forgot to copy what my Aunt sent, so here it is
TO THE TUNE OF JIMMY DEAN'S "BIG BAD JOHN"
>
> Subject: Big Bad John
>
>
>
> Every mornin' on the Hill you could see him arrive
> Standing six-foot-four, weighing one-twenty-five
> Kinda' scrawny at the shoulders and lacking a spine
> And when he spoke at all, it was mainly to whine
> (Big John, Big John) Big Bad John
> Nobody seems to know what's in John's soul
> His 'beliefs' are based on the latest poll
> 'Though he'll say what it takes to get your votes
> It's the leftist agenda that he really promotes - Big John.
> Some one said he came from Boston town
> Where he joined the Navy and gained renown
> 'Earning' three purple hearts and one bronze star
> The home folks said, "This boy will go far"
> (Big John, Big John) Big Bad John (Big John)
> Then came a day back in '71
> When he renounced all the medals that he had won
> Then turned against his country and his Navy friends
> And sold them out for his own selfish ends (Big John)
> He appeared before Congress and on left-wing talk shows
> Giving aid and comfort to America's foes
> It was clear to see whose side he was on
> Some say he helped cause the fall of Saigon - Big John
> (Big John, Big John) Big Bad John (Big John)
> He claims to be for the working poor
> Yet he owns 5 mansions from shore to shore
> He never had to work a day in his life
> 'cause he learned it helps to have a wealthy wife! - Big John
> Now he wants to be our next President
> and Commander-in-chief of those he resents:
> The American soldiers who fight and die
> To give him the freedom to tell us his lies
> (Big John, Big John) Big Bad John (Big John)
> Thousands have sacrificed their young lives
> To help ensure that our nation survives
> A vote for Kerry is a slap in the face
> To all the brave soldiers that he's disgraced
> FADE (Big John, Big John) Big Bad John (Big John)

3. Maybe the one I used to sing in Sunday School
"Oh, be careful little hands what you see, oh, be careful little ears what you hear, oh, be careful little lips what you say...for the Father up above is looking down in love, so be careful little hands/ears/lips, etc. what you do/hear/say."

Or there's a hymn called "They will know we are Christians by our love." I'm sure Bushie knows that one by heart. Or maybe NOT!

Sky Pilot by The Animals

He blesses the boys, as they stand in line
The smell of gun grease and their bayonets they shine
He's there to help them all that he can
To make them feel wanted he's a good holy man

Sky Pilot
Sky Pilot
How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never, reach the sky

He smiles at the young soldiers, tells them it's all right
He knows of their fear in the forthcoming fight
Soon there'll be blood and many will die
Mothers and fathers back home they will cry

Sky Pilot
Sky Pilot
How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never, reach the sky

He mumbles a prayer and it ends with a smile
The order is given, they move down the line
But he'll stay behind, and he'll meditate
But it won't stop the bleeding, or ease the hate

As the young men move out into the battle zone
He feels good, with God you're never alone
He feels so tired as he lays on his bed
Hopes the men will find courage in the words that he said

Sky Pilot
Sky Pilot
How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never, reach the sky

In the morning they return with tears in their eyes
The stench of death lifts up to the skies
A young soldier so ill, looks at the Sky Pilot
Remembers the words 'Thou shalt not kill'.

Sky Pilot
Sky Pilot
How high can you fly?
You'll never, never, never, reach the sky

I'm Proud To Be A Democrat

I'm proud to be a Democrat
Where at last I know I'm free,
And I would never leave anyone behind
Who fought or died for me.
I'll always stand up what I believe
And those who gave that right to me.
Because I'll love this land for all eternity.
Thank you! Thomas Jefferson and the symbol of Liberty.

I'm just a working man.
I've worked hard all my life,
I've paid my dues with sweat and by my hand
For my children and my wife.
I've tried to save and protect my family through all strife
I've paid my taxes and my bills.
And I'll tell you here today.
I love this USA.

All across this country I see the awakening,
From Iowa to Ohio and Pennsylvania. It's happening.
And from New York across Louisiana to California ,
From Massachusetts to North Carolina. It's gathering.
From Maine to Vermont and New Hampshire
There is now pride and hope building in America.
The best is yet to come.
So, it's time to say.

I'm proud to be a Democrat
Where at last I know I'm free,
And I would never leave anyone behind
Who fought or died for me.
I'll always stand up what I believe
And those who gave that right to me.
Because I'll love this land for all eternity.
Thank you! Thomas Jefferson and the symbol of Liberty.

Why worry about pollution a friend of my once asked, because what won't kill you makes you stronger. I thought about that for a few seconds then replied at some point being mortal, everything will kill you. After all life is only until you die, regardless of an afterlife it is by definition after death. Then I thought about smog, pollution, and environmental destruction and for him composed this song, for if it does not kill him, it would make us stronger. We can always adapt familiar things to suit our prospective.

America The UnBeautiful

Oh, UnBeautiful for smoky skies,
For amber fields of genetic altered corn,
For hazy purple clouds Majesties
Above the polluted plane!
America! America!
God shed his tears on thee
And frown on thy unjustly imprisoned brotherhood
From sea to Guantanamo Sea!

Once beautiful for pilgrim's feats
Whose law we used to compassionately stress.
A Constitution thoroughly
beat Across our wilderness!
America! America!
God please mind our every flaw,
Confirm our sole by self control,
Let not our liberty be flawed!

O Unbeautiful for heroes defamed
Trying to liberate our strife.
Who less than self their country loved
Against those who didn't value Truth!
America! America!
May God thy sole remind
Till no excess be nobleness
and every gain be divine!

Once beautiful for patriot dreams
That saw beyond the fears.
Slime on alabaster cities teem
Filled with human tears!
America! America!
God shed his tears on thee
And frown on our unjustly imprisoned brotherhood
From sea to Guantanamo Sea.

5. Doesn't sound like there is much hope for Dear Old Auntie

Tell her to buy a new New Testament, one that has James still in it. Tell her to read that and decide if she is a Christian or a Republican.

6. Hells' Bells by AC DC is the only thing that comes to mind.
I know it isn't appropriate, though, but that is the one song that popped into my head when I read your post. You don't even have to change the words. :headbang:

8. I hate to say this but it may be best to just put her email in
the cyber trash and not respond to it. I have some family members that I can argue politics with and some that I cannot. But, my family loves me and I love them--so regardless of beliefs, I just live and let live. It is not worth alienating family unless they are open-minded enough to really listen. I would probably ignore this email unless this aunt is open-minded (which this email is not).

7. This is called "I Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die Rag"
from the magnificent Country Joe and the Fish. It's about Vietnam, but I think it's apt for Iraq with only a couple of word changes...

Yeah, come on all of you, big strong men,
Uncle Sam needs your help again.
He's got himself in a terrible jam
Way down yonder in Vietnam
So put down your books and pick up a gun,
We're gonna have a whole lotta fun.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on generals, let's move fast;
Your big chance has come at last.
Gotta go out and get those reds —
The only good commie is the one who's dead
And you know that peace can only be won
When we've blown 'em all to kingdom come.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Huh!

Well, come on Wall Street, don't move slow,
Why man, this is war au-go-go.
There's plenty good money to be made
By supplying the Army with the tools of the trade,
Just hope and pray that if they drop the bomb,
They drop it on the Viet Cong.

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Well, come on mothers throughout the land,
Pack your boys off to Vietnam.
Come on fathers, don't hesitate,
Send 'em off before it's too late.
Be the first one on your block
To have your boy come home in a box.

And it's one, two, three
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam.
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.
