Bush Girls look unprofessional unless they've chosen the oldest profession
...if you know what I mean. ;)

I just saw * on the local news proudly announcing at a campaign stop that he had his girls with him. He said it made the days shorter having them around.

Then they showed Jenna and Barbara. I know many here say they shouldn't be attacked but the way they dress begs for comment. Jenna's cleavage was very noticeable. Both wear bell bottoms and are very casual in all the shots I've seen of them. You'd think they'd look a little more presentable--professional maybe. Of course I know they want the young vote so there may be a method to the madness but at first glance it just appears they are being prostituted by * and the RepubliCONS--nothing is off limits if it moves their sacred approval ratings.

Wish I had pix. What say you?

2. I hate to even comment, but...
...have to agree. Lots of exposed boobs on Jenna the other day. Maybe she just likes to dress that way and daddy is tolerant of it. I mean, no big deal to me, but to conservatives? Granny Winchester will fall out of her deer stand seein' them teeters.

22. Remember the picture of Chelsea
plastered all over Drudge a year or two ago? The point was that her nipples were evident under her very demure turtleneck sweater. But pictorial evidence shows that Jenna behaves like a spoiled brat, and it causes barely a ripple.

I think we need to go back to underground newspapers, and print some of this crap ourselves......

Just the side-by-side comparisons........ show up the freeper hypocracy....

I sent this photo to a conservative couple, and that will probably be the last they speak to me. Oh well, they sent me plenty of crap over the years. One grows weary.......

Jenna deserves to be plastered *EVERYWHERE*........

33. Uhh, you won't see it because it's not newsworthy?
The only time I saw pictures of Chelsea in less than flattering pictures was either on RW web-sites or tabloids like the National Enquirer. I sure didn't see anything that reflected poorly on her in the major, legitimate papers.

BTW, the picture of Jenna is in the Washington Post. Buried on the gossip/society happening page - exactly where it belongs.

4. I hesitated to make a remark about it
I don't want to sound like I'm trashing another woman for her clothing choices, but they do look pretty tacky-not what you would expect from the daughters of a wealthy blue-blood family. Maybe that look appeals to a certain demographic.

7. ugh---it was humiliating--a few days ago
everyone was making fun of how tacky one of the girls looked--and I have almost that exact same outfit. Never thought I looked like a complete slut in it.

I think it is Jenna's attitude and stuff that makes her seem a little off--she definitely has that air of a partier. Barbara seems classier to me....she doesn't really seem slutty at all....just my opinion though.

Never been young, a bit foolish perhaps ? Maybe you weren't followed around by photograhers when you made a fool of yourself in your youth, if you you ever did so. As to spread legs and being classy, the remark speaks for itself.

Jenna & Barbara Bush are not the issue, Pres. G. W. Bush is. Focus.

35. Yeah, and I fondly refer to them as my 'young and stupid days', but it
seems that you are lowering expectations for them the way that far too many have done for the drunken Dimson*.

I had times when I drank way too much, combined drugs with alcohol, and was a party animal, but I was always aware of my crotch and who might have been trying to touch it, see it, etc. I think that you get the picture. No, I didn't have photographers following me around, but to be that drunk and splayed out on the Cheneying street is beyond my comprehension.

From one of the 'best families that American has to offer' - give me a Cheneying break!

43. most would laugh hearing me called a sexist, hm
no not being sexist and yes i have done plenty in younger and not so younger days drunk. i also know when i was younger and my dad well known in town, i told mom the pressure i had having to behave a certain way. and she told me that is part of being a family. not to embarrass each other. they dont embarrass me, i shouldnt embarrass them. i agree with that. but if father is president, i think i would be having a little more conscious then i did in my own life. now even without camera and even in my drunkest, i didnt feel the need to lay on ground legs spread dress up at waist.

anyway, dont care, but no, in that moment, there isnt a lot of class in that behavior, regardless how it is excused.

As for the girls, it's the Chimp himself who's suddenly sprouted fatherhood and is trotting his daughters around in public, all in a futile attempt to show what a great family man and role model he's been. It shows, doesn't it?

So, yes, *he* is the issue after all.

The effect of powerful camera flashes made an otherwise demure dress into a see-through garment. Everyone who saw the dress in person said it was not at all see-through. I am sure Alexandra was surprised and appalled that the camera flashes had that effect.

with another knit shirt under it over bells, and thought the same thing: for the campaign trail? You know they can afford anything they want.

As for Kerry's daughter, I haven't seen the photos of her at Cannes but she was at Cannes, not out campaigning for dad in the US.

I'd think GOP women would be thinking badly of the twits, er, twins.

their age. (Our nearest city that I shop in is a college town so you get a feel of the styles young people wear.) Yeah, I know, they are out of college but maybe the style is there for a season. I don't think their dress code is much of something to comment on right now. However, let's talk about mama Laura. Boy does she need the Queer eye guys to fix her up.

26. I respectfully disagree with you.......
"However, let's talk about mama Laura. Boy does she need the Queer
eye guys to fix her up."

IMHO, lack of "style" is NOT a point to criticize....... it's shallow, and leads no where. It comes across as just mean.

Remember Eleanor Roosevelt? She was no looker, and certainly didn't project an image of "style". Do we need to tear down such women of substance for such shallow reasons?

ON the other hand, the RW has made their whole case about "MORAL ISSUES"......... showing up their hypocracy with pictures of the wild daughters only points up just how hypocritical they really are. I really hate that picture of Jenna with her legs spread, but since they have made such a deal of how moral they are, that picture should be pasted all over. Let their loyal minions see just how Moral they are.....not. I can imagine a run of heart attacks among the righteous....

Dare I say...... "bring it on"......?

29. LOL Kanary, you've been respectfully disagreeing with
me a lot lately, so it's my turn, now. Laura Bush is no Eleanor Roosevelt. Eleanor could have worn a gunny sack and no one would notice because everyone was too fixated listening to what she had to say. Also, back in those days (I know because I lived in them) our news was received mostly over the radio and in print. As a matter of fact, Eleanor had her own syndicated column for quite awhile, which I always read when I was in the states. Television didn't become widely used until the fifties so the only time you saw them was in news photos or newsreels in the movie theater.

She also dressed appropriately for her day and age by wearing a hat and gloves when appropriate. Back in those days middle aged women dressed appropriately for their age and the fashion rules were very defined even to skirt length and appropriate colors for older women in the spotlight. Mamie Eisenhower also would have been considered dumpy today, but her fashion was appropriate for a middle aged married woman of the fifties. Mamie even made bangs popular again.

Laura unfortunately looks like her outfits come from a garage sale. Many of them need to be tailored to fit her have seen her inappropriately dressed in certain venues with foreign leaders and their wives. It's called protocol and even the Queen of England follows the rules of protocol when meeting foreign dignitaries, so why can't the Bushs? They are representing each and every American.

34. I, personally, just think it leaves the door open for more superficial
attacks.

It really matters not if she looks like "her outfits come from a garage sale"....... that can be countered with Elizabeth Edwards being overweight. It's all just silly. It says *NOTHING* about the actual policies.

If Laura were the first lady of a great Democrat who liberated us from this whole horrible mess, you can be sure her "garage sale" clothes would be the least of our consideration. If she were that first lady, I wouldn't even notice what she had on at all. I'd just be grateful to finally be liberated from this nightmare!

The twins are another story....... they aren't just tacky...... their behavior flies in the face of all the "standards" the RW keeps touting. A different category.

And, as much as I adore Eleanor Roosevelt, she was definitely not an attractive woman, or a good dresser. Just doesn't matter. She was a remarkable, and deeply compassionate, human being, and a leader.

My view. :hi:

45. I see no reason at all to "protect" the slutty twins
they are really quite immature and they are campaigning for their father and they are fulfilling a role and that is to get the vote of the young. I am convinced of that now.

They are fair game and their sloppy, slovenely, slutty cleavage exposing manner of dress is downright classless and inappropriate for what they are being paid for--or is it?

It looks like daddy Bush loves displaying the cleavage of his Jenna--and the bosom of his barb.

He is so proud of it all--hey it is as if he owns that cleavage--take a look guys--it is mine.

Sorry--they are without class--and in fact are crass. If they are campaigning, we are not obliged to "respect" this display of slovenly dress as merely something we can pass off as something due to thier "youth"

Many, including myself, were well on our way to pregnancy, repsonsibility and raising our babies, which takes a whole lot of ability to sacrifice, as I am sure many here know--these two are simply behaving like spoiled brats, as George is still behaving like a spoiled frat boy

This is the rich and the priveledged you see before you. They are immature tongue sticking out, wealthy brats with no sense of "other"

46. daughters
I'm in favor of taking the high road, but these girls seem pretty oblivious and I doubt if cheap shots are going to bother them.

It does seem kind of sad to take such young people and force them into the public eye. In this case, it doesn't seem like they're ever going to be much of a selling point for Bush.

PS, not a freeper, just new.

thanks to the people from the other threads for your greetings.

54. so clothing that shows cleavage
is slutty? I better go home and change. I can't beleive that posters here really beleive that the way you dress reflects your morality or even use the word "slutty" what exactly does that mean anyway?

59. Yes clothing showing cleavage IS slutty in certain settings
If Bush and his daugters were going to a gala event where cleavage was appropriate, it would not seem slutty. But when he's making regular campaign stops, I'd think they would want to be a little more modest to keep the focus on their father. But then, with a father like that, they probably need to dress even more provocatively so they become the topic of discussion instead of Bush's continuing failure.

60. so what does "slutty" mean anyway
personally I think it's a pretty sexist term in that I can't think of a male equivalent. I also can't see what's so "immodest" about cleavage. Maybe it's a cultural difference - it's pretty hot half the year so more skin is on show - but I just can't get puritanical about short skirts or low cut tops, for a start I'd have to throw out half my wardrobe

55. Possibly trying to appeal to the 18 -25 vote? It would make sense that
they'd dress as people do at that age. OMO. I didn't see them, don't know, but hanging the daughters out to dry isn't needed. Perhaps the fashion police should be alerted but for people to call them sluts and other things seems overboard to me. If the shoes were on the other feet would we be having this debate? I haven't learned a lot in my life but I have learned to be careful about what I say about someone's kid because, sure enough, it will come back to make me want to eat my words. It's your right though and last time I looked, we still have that right.

61. So the way they dress begs for comment?
Please, has it come down to this? Trashing the kids(deserved or not) to get at the Shrub? Just because they are with him does not mean they are "campaigning" for him. Actually from what I've seen, they don't think much of their father or themselves. Bush has to keep up appearances of being the "family values" candidate so he's going to keep them on a short leash till after the election. In the meantime how about we keep on the Shrub for things like stealing Iraqi oil revenues, killing thousands of innocents, or maybe THE TORTURE AND RAPE OF CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!! C'mon people, tell me I'm wrong, tell me how we don't have enough against Bush so we have to attack his children. It's a real Neo-Con/Limbaugh/Hannity strategy and we should be better than that...

69. Well then please link me
to someplace where I can read what they have said in their campaign speeches or statements, and I'll take it back. Honestly, all I have ever seen is pictures of them either drunk or with their father(or maybe both) and I just assumed they were doing the dutiful family thing and not actively campaigning.

Oh and I must be older than I thought cause they look like kids to me....

70. oh....
....for the days of Tricia and Julie Nixon or the Johnson daughters in the White House. They dressed with excellent taste for their position in life, as representatives of the American people.

And don't give me that crap about how they didn't choose to represent us. They benefit from the perks of OUR tax dollars. Every day. They can at least look well groomed and respectful.

from the public treasury for generations.
Frankly, I don't care how they dress. However, I do care that they are evidence of ANOTHER generation of the parasitic, mendacious Bush family. To hell with all of them.

72. Amen to that brother (once again) plus...
They are sure as hell traveling on OUR money. I don't care if the campaign kicks in plane fare for them they have federal protection 24/7 everyday and all the other perks that the federal government pays for as they wander around the country, and they are , in this case, appearing with the (alleged) President as part of his entourage. His campaign has said they were working for the campaign so, they don't need to make speeches, they are there for the visual of "family support"---and God help us, probably next we will hear that they are "learning the family business."

They are doing a job even if that job is "pretty dutiful daughters" to project that family man image that gets endless lip service by these asshats. They want privacy? Then retire to the private sphere and get a job or sit on the beach, its July, they have a place in Maine. Otherwise, you live in public you get criticized for falling short.

73. No need for picks
I've seen them way too much on the mass(ively ignorant) media. And you are dead on. He's got (relatively) good looking daughters. They're young, they're cute, and they're showing the light, happy, smiley, stick your tongue out at the media and we'll all have a jolly chuckle, carefree side of the compassionate conservatives.

And it is all such bullshit. Makes me angry, really.
