Buy F911 DVDs for All "Swing State" Libraries
Buy F911 DVDs for All "Swing State" Libraries:

1. Need a list (which must be available somewhere (moveon.org?)) of the states, counties, districts, precincts, wards, that are most in balance, cross compiled with a list of the local libraries.

2. Need someone to organize and channel the DVDs to the most likely spots first, with no overlap or misses. (no small effort, unless, see number 3).

3. This could easily work with a big company that distributes like Amazon, M. Moore, or the DVD's distributor. Customers signing up for individual locations, or for the most urgent.

4. What a wonderful idea!
I found a government site that lets you look up all the public libraries by state, county, city or zip code here.
http://nces.ed.gov/surveys/libraries/librarysearch/

This is a huge undertaking with the number of libraries out there especially if one is to make sure every branch of a library has a copy not just the main branch. It would be fantastic if some group like MoveOn would organize this and so people can adopt a library or library branch.

6. my local branch snatched up the copy of "Roger & Me" I brought in ...
I've been donating a lot of stuff to them, and they really appreciate it because the DVD collection they started last year is in high demand -- the main library can't afford to buy copies of new releases for all 8 branches. I am planning on donating F 9/11 when it comes out, with an extra copy for the branch that services the neighborhood around the local military base.

Someone mentioned earlier that their local library is leery of overtly "political" offerings. One way to get around this might be to donate a package of DVDs -- throw in family films like "Finding Nemo" and "Shrek" (high demand for these!); maybe "Elephant" or another recent Cannes winner along with the Moore movie; "Mystic River" and "Cold Mountain; and a couple of classics like "Casablanca" and "Lawrence of Arabia". I buy my DVDs secondhand, and this really cuts costs for me. My local branch had absolutely no reservations about "Bowling for Columbine" or any other political movies I've brought in, but we're up in Canada.

And if the movies you choose tend to lean towards Hollywood folks who've criticized the administration (e.g. Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Martin Sheen) -- well, they'd have to be very nitpicky to point that out.

7. I just bookmarked this thread
I don't want to miss out on the action. I am on the notification list at Amazon when F9/11 comes out on DVD though I am hoping Deep Discount DVD gets it as well as they usually are a few dollars less and also have free shipping.
