Vote or Die in NYC
Edited on Tue Jul-20-04 11:25 PM by Bleachers7
I was walking through Times Square towards Penn Station tonight at 5:30 and saw a bunch of people holding up signs that said "Vote or Die." The whole MTV crowd waiting for TRL had signs as well as others. There were also several people in Vote or Die t-shirts with clipboards signing up voters. They were nice enough to give me a button. This is Puffy's group. I have heard about them and today they hit the streets. Enjoy

3. I made some avatars from their logo and their sign
in case you, or anyone else who can, feels like using them.

If you happen to have a scan of one of those posters that'd make for a better avatar than using one of those pics as the source, which is what I did for this one.

asbestos fallout from the towers - or what exactly?

Edited to add: You got something against voting? Something against Democracy? I suspect you'd just prefer it if Bush were Dictator for life.

9. You have got to be kidding?
NY is the safest large city in the world. It's murder rate is under 600. The #1 hotel in the US is located in NY. NY is considered the capital of the world. You can walk through almost any part of the city at any time of day and not have a problem. That can't be said for most other cities and any other big cities.

12. NYC is democracy in action
people of all cultures and races reside there. But as far as filth goes, I'd have to say there are many other US cities that take worse care of their streets than NY. And the air quality of many Southern and Midwestern cities is far worse than in NY Metro.

23. STFU!
Every city has it's strengths and weaknesses. What's the point of your rude, drive-by, add-nothing, inflammatory comment?

11. Diddy is just being a good businessman
Citizen Change is non-partisan in name only. Certainly he realizes that if the nation's 18-to-30-year olds find themselves ducking bullets in Iran as early as next spring, he's not going to sell too many albums.

14. Ahhhhh, that's kind of a cheap shot
isn't it RockNation?? Maybe the current state of America really does have him troubled, just like the rest of us. Everything doesn't have to be about greed. What this group is saying is the absolute truth in 3 words. It will be these young people's lives at stake, and the point is to make that crystal clear.

16. Okay, I'll Bite
Just because I want to keep this thread kicked a little since the pictures are awesome.

WHAT do you got against P.Diddy - trying to do something good. Sorry I know you're not a freep, but isn't this always their line? Everyone patriot who wrote a book at great personal risk to expose this administration was "just trying to make a buck" - and every Hollywood entertainer that spoke out was - there were so many different excuses - none of which were they felt passionate about their cause and the actually really cared about the world.

He's doing something good, I just don't see why we have to disparage it. If even ONE person heeds the messages and registers, it's a good thing, no?

22. What Diddy is doing is VERY good
Edited on Wed Jul-21-04 01:27 PM by rocknation
because it will help the Democrats in the long run--and he knows it.

But that doesn't lighten his personal baggage. At one point, he was well on his way to become the Al Sharpton of his generation.

19. Well business was his major at Howard, I recall
And regardless of what may say of his own artistic output, he's been a fabulously successfully music impresario. He is and has been very involved in mobilizing the hip-hop vote for a long time. Let's hope his Midas touch transfers to voting drives.

10. "Vote or Die" quite an accurate assessment for Imperial Amerika
MANY will die if the Imperial Family retains power, not the least of whom will be our soldiers and innocent Iraqis.
