8. Newsday has something...
Edited on Wed Jul-21-04 08:48 AM by JHB
...I saw something on it in the dead tree edition I read this morning.

Keep in mind: it happened on Long Island, which as far as the city papers are concerned is still cow country.

And it's not like the guy mowed down a couple of CEOs or anything, so you know what priority corporate media give it....

HIT-&-RUN CARNAGE

By TODD VENEZIA and KIERAN CROWLEY

A pick-up driver high on drugs slammed into a union picket line on Long Island yesterday, killing two labor protesters and injuring six before speeding away from the scene of carnage, police said.

Cops said Anthony Person, 34, of Brentwood, plowed his Chevrolet into the crowd of carpenters-union demonstrators in Bay Shore at 8:40 a.m.

The workers were protesting what they claimed was the use of nonunion labor on a commercial construction job on the westbound Sunrise Highway service road.

Around 15 workers were on a narrow sidewalk that was penned in by the work site's fence, and they had nowhere to run as the pick-up jumped the curb and raced toward them.

11. Corporate media doesn't like unions
Anti-union bias might have planted ideas into the "stoner's" head...
