Playing into Rove's hands
(An angry open letter to all liberals and Dems, in particular any Dem/Independent contending for political office or work on a political campaign against the GOP)

We liberals do like our puppet strings, don't we? The Prince of Darkness, Rove, dictates our talking points to us and we are more than happy to oblige him. What I mean by that is all this reactionary rhetoric to Berger, Wilson, Goldberg and a host of other "defensive" actions on our part. The GOP happily supplies us with a bit of hate fueled attack and we drop everything to yammer on endlessly about it.

Meanwhile, the GOP is left with enough empty space to suppress and frame this coming election. 2000 is repeating itself and its getting pretty eerie. Once again, we Democrats are allowing the GOP to tell us what this election is going to be about and we are happy to oblige them. Once again, they have set the stage and platforms for this election, and once again the Dems are in response mode by molding the election to the GOP's platform!

Folks, this has to stop right now!

We need to make the GOP answer on our issues. And we need to talk about nothing but our issues. Make the GOP respond to us, make the GOP stumble and fall on the sword of health care, poverty and jobs. Take them to task on the failures of 9/11 and Iraq. Question the Iraqi war, question troop deployments and depletions in other hot zones of unrest.

But, by all the gods and demons, we have to be unapologetic and unrelenting in our assault on these right wing nut jobs. Take the fight to the GOP and quit waiting to be whipped by these jingoes. They are weakest on the defensive, this past year has shown us that so let's get the Liberal rage flowing and burning the GOP hate machine to cinders! And for Pete's sake, stop blabbing about Rove's talking points!

1. They control the networks ...

They control the Microphones. It's difficult to demand answers of the president when he doesn't answer ANY unscripted questions.

4. not necessarily.
The networks operate under the illusion of being "journalists" And so, in their attempt at being "fair and balanced" they give Liberals air time. Abbreviated though it may be, there is still air time. If the Liberals take the GOP to task each and every time there's a mic around then one of two things will happen -- neither is good for the media.

Either A) the message will get out and the GOP will be forced to respond for a change.

or B) there will be no more liberals on the air at all. Seeing as how 50% of the voting body today is Liberal/Democrat the media conglomerates will be alienating 1/2 of the viewing population. That drops viewership and advertising revenues. Something the media will never do.

Plus, with the election here in our laps, they have no choice but to give the Kerry camp lip service. The nation already knows that there's a Dem running and if suddenly the Dem isn't showing up on TV because he's not talking the GOP talking points people will notice and howl bloody murder. (dropping ad revenues again)

Granted, the media will pander to the right and offer their asses to the devil incarnate, Rove, but if the Kerry camp stays on target of our issues and has some real passion and vision in that message people will support them over whelming.

This nation is hung over from *'s frat party and inevitable date rape, and now the voting body is waking up and wants to call the cops on those corrupt soulless bastards. All Kerry has to do is give us a phone.

10. There is no illusion ...

They are a business that accepts advertising revenue. The advertisers control the content.

The advertising is controlled by the type of people who support Shrub. Or didn't you notice all the "Kingdom holding company" ads on CNN lately. Isn't that odd that Saudi Arabia would wan't to advertise the fact that they exist on US cable news????

Oh, did you ever wonder why you see all those 3M, Archer Daniels Midland, Halliburton, etc... ads on Sunday morning political shows??? Isn't it really odd that these companies are advertising when end consumers buy NOTHING from them, only large businesses ??????

Could it be that these companies are seeking to control content by purchasing ad time .... hmmmm......

I think so.

5. That's the great "gotcha" isn't it?
Well, it starts with us and not the National Democrats (or what ever term you want to use for the Dem old guard) We dictate to them by our voices. Pound the DNC and DLC with endless letters of support and this call to election war. The DNC follows the "polls" and meanders in the endless sludge of middle ground. Well, the solution is simple, if we want them to have teeth then we need to show the DNC that our teeth will bite them in the ass.

Think of the DNC as sheep waiting to be herded by us the sheep dogs of the left!

There are tons of good Dems, Dean, DK, Clark all had compelling and powerful messages. (Kerry is good as well, but he's too middle of the road for today's polarized politics.) If you are a Deaniac, DK supporter, or Clarkie then hammer the DNC with your man's message. Make them listen to us and steer them away from settling for second prize and the middle of the road, and motivate them to go for the Stanley Cup of politics, the White House!

8. Good!
I'm sick of being called "a Liberal Pussy" because I think everybody should have the right to go to the doctor and not be financially crippled by it.

Because I think we should actually protect this nation, in this nation then going half way around the world to play in Satan's sandbox of hell.

Because I think everybody should get a fair shake at an education that their grand kids won't have to pay off.

Because I think there is such a thing as a living wage, and it isn't $6.50 an hour.

Because I think that women have the second worst position in this nation behind the Native Americans, and its all complete bullshit.

I'm gonna do my part as well, and I'll be dammed if I'm going down with out swinging back.

9. DC Dems need to lead
How much a fucking clue do the DC Dems need that it would okay to fight back with extreme force against the thugs of the Repugnican Party? Do they not have a clue what is happening here and other places throughout the net. Wasn't Howard Dean's run a clue. Brain Dead working people know one thing for sure and that is an asswhipping. They like Bush because he gives them that feeling he won't get punked by anyone. The do not respect any politician or anyone who appears to be a big pussy. When DC Dems let the GOP punk them on TV and elsewhere they prove to the braindeads that they will not fight and thus not worthy of their vote. Leadership willing to take the fight to the Repugnicans and not back down will earn the support of the brain deads everywhere.

3. Yes
I think that we cannot restore polity in America until we wipe the neocons completely off the face of the earth, like we did with the last bunch of Nazis.

7. indeed, they started this war of annihilation, let's finish it.
Its clear to me that the neocons has one unifying goal, the total domination of politics. Read the neocon friendly sites for a bit and you'll see the desire to turn America into a one party terror state.

They believe they are on the "right" side of morality (the biggest joke of the century IMO) and all should just get in line with them.

They want to break and shatter liberalism, and erase us from life. Well fight fire with fire, I say, they want to fight a war of attrition? I'm happy to oblige them.
