Joe McCarthy was a Senator from Wisconsin in the 1950s whose anti-communist speeches and investigations led to the term "McCarthyism."
Al Franken was discussing on his radio show O'Reilly's lies about Jeremy Glick, a graduate student who once appeared on "The O'Reilly Factor."

last night it not only got laughs, but applause in the middle of the extended medley it is part of... people just HATE O'Reilly!
