W MASS. "DEMOCRACY FEST" MOVED
This is hardly breaking news and posting it just to the MASS forum makes no sense.

The Democracy Fest (formally Dean Fest) scheduled to be held this weekend at Butternut Basin in Great Barrington Mass has been moved to Pittsfield.... more info here: www.myvoteismyvoice.com

Permit for DemocracyFest voted down

By Ellen G. Lahr
Berkshire Eagle Staff

GREAT BARRINGTON -- The Selectmen voted 3-2 last night to revoke the permit for the DemocracyFest event planned at Butternut this weekend after the organizers cut a private security company from their plans and asked the Police Department to provide round-the-clock security.
After the venue fell apart last night -- the lineup includes former Gov. Howard Dean of Vermont, a slate of other political speakers and a variety of music acts -- the organizers said they have a backup plan. They will relocate the two-day event to the Crowne Plaza hotel in Pittsfield, where a contract is already in the works, they said.
