When family members shill the right wing: NO INFLATION just rising prices
Lots of post these days about the anger in politics, division, censorship, communications being cut between friends and family.
The divide is widening also for me, at least it is between family members.

My sister and brother-in-law visited over the weekend, he a rush loving wing-job, she doesn't care much but ends up repeating what he says. Over the past 10 years to enjoy any harmony we have all learned to leave politics aside.

So, just making casual conversation I asked them if they had felt the effect of inflation, for they live in a different state. That started it....at least his statement that "there is no inflation, just rising prices" did.

When I asked him to explain how that works, he said prices go up and then pay follows. What???
Knowing he is self-employed and drives 40k miles a year in his business, the increase in fuel prices alone would have had to have a major impact. He said he just passes it on to his customers. What???

He is so aligned with and a shill for the wingnut program, and just a common ordinary working guy making 50k a year if he's lucky.

Man, we have nothing to talk about.

1. That this person is rw explains most of this
Clearly, the seemingly abstract concept of inflation does not register with this person. I would bet that this person doesn't see himself as an ordinary working guy, but a as potential millionaire.

3. That frustrates me too
They just don't understand how bad thier wallet is being looted and it may get worse...they may have to be brought to the point of no return before they will really listen. That is what I'm afraid may very well happen. I don't think the full effects have been felt yet for some and it may have to hit critical mass before they are blindsided in order to understand.

This is actually a matter of inflation vs. deflation, this is why the Fed is between a rock and a hard spot.

Here is a good & timely article regarding the separation of wealth and the issue of inflation / deflation at the same time which is happening in our country today.
