The Next Time You Feel Like Knocking Detroit
Think about the fact the the Detroit Police Department's 11th precinct sponsored an outing today, taking dozens of senior citizens to see Fahrenheit 911.

1. Isn't Detroit one of the most solidly Democratic cities in the country?

3. Yes it is
Which is why I get so pissed off when I see it attacked here.

People ought to remember, without Detroit, there would be no Governor Granholm, no Senators Levin and Stabenow, there would be two more Republicans in the House, and Bush would have Michigan's 16 electoral votes locked up.

4. The City of my birth
I have not been to Detroit in 20 years, but I still love the place! Have some great childhood memories. :)

8. That's great!
I wouldn't live there if you paid me. Before you claim I am "ignorant" please know, I grew up in the area. Have lived away for about 16 years now and we go down there about once a year. Ugh. I can't wait to get the hell out of there.

Detroit? Yeah, you can have it. Thankfully many of those moving north to where I am are Dems. Big sea change going on in the north of the state.
