It uses a Windows Media-based player rather than Real audio.

8. I just want to thank you . .

. . for being thoughtful enough to put the time and time zone in your headline when you are referring to a time specific event.

For those of you who don't know, people all over the world post here and view posts here.

Also, when referring to radio or TV programs, saying that NPR just said . . . doesn't mean much. Each NPR (or AAR or whatever) affiliate station runs it's own schedule of programming. Sometimes they take a direct feed from the NPR studios and rebroadcast it - and sometimes it's a playback of a prerecorded segment. So, it would help if you said something like, "Here in Atlanta at 4:56 PM on All Things Considered . . . etc. Anybody in radio feel free to correct my terminology.

Since Arielle did such a good job I thought this would be a good time to mention this pet peeve of mine so I could use her as an example of how to do it right.
