USA Today, Hollywood liberals and irony
Edited on Wed Jul-21-04 07:38 PM by ArtieBoy
Has anyone commented on this article in USA today?

Celebrities, especially musicians, have long caused controversy during times of war, says presidential scholar Doug Brinkley of the Eisenhower Center and author of Tour of Duty: John Kerry and the Vietnam War.

snip

Fahrenheit 9/11 has further rallied celebs, many who "aren't deep intellectual thinkers," Brinkley says.

Has anyone else observed this deep irony? When showbiz types are against Bush and the war, it's because they "aren't very intellectual." But when college professors, learned men, are anti-Bush and anti-war, someone like Rush Limbaugh calls them "pointy-headed intellectuals living in academic ivory towers." And then when you throw the rest of the world, namely Europe, into the equation they're "effete Europeans who would never have won World War II without the good ol' USA."

Anyone else notice that?

So it would appear the only two groups left with the mental acuity to properly appreciate Bush's greatness are those in his base: Texas oil magnates and redneck dupes in the South and Midwest (and I live in Georgia).

1. Denis Miller, Willis, Arnold, Ditka, all the other right wing celebs...
I'm sure they are geniuses - it's just "liberals" in Hollywood who are stupid.

Just believe what the media tells you and don't think about it too much! :)

he is...And I feel better saying that.

We Will Not be compartmentalized like they would have us...there are some brillant actors and actresses who feel deeply about our Country and there are some Not so brilliant historians who like to look down from their ivory tower on reel People.
