idea. When you put pen to paper and list it all out, it makes you more determined than ever and it is a good list to give to repukes to dispute.

5. More than just that.
Medicare bill - lying about the cost ($400 billion when it was really $540 billion), producing propanda "video news releases" to promote it afterwards.

Torture at Guatanamo Bay.

Saying the reconstruction of Iraq would be $1.7 billion, really over $20 billion and counting.

Stealing the 2000 election by telling legal voters in Florida they're suspected felons.

18. Also "fruitcake gate" in house last year.
Remember the dems went to discuss the bill (was it medicare? or labor?) and the pukes didn't want them to read it, so they had the capitol police go in and try to remove them from the room?

Pelosi and Rangel were livid.

And they left Stark in there by himself, to object if there was a vote, and when he tried to object, they told him it was too late, and McAnus told him to shut up, so Stark called him a fruitcake!

God what a night that was. Then we got to watch all the house pukes lie on CNN and say the cops were called to protect McAnus from 70 year old Pete Stark, when the cap. police were really called on the dems. I'm still beyond disgusted thinking about that.

47. That was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.
I wasn't a DUer at that time, so I was left w/ screaming at the television.

Remember how the pugs started backtracking on their lies when the dems started talking about how the time of the call to the capitol police could easily be established (proving that the call had been made before the Stark/McCanus encounter)?

It still makes me boil, too.

It was about that time that I realized I needed an outlet/forum like DU. :hi:

is this the one?

Feb. 9: The USS Greeneville crashes into the Japanese fishing boat Ehime Maru off Hawaii, killing nine Japanese, including four schoolboys. At the time of the crash, the submarine, which was taking 16 civilians out for a day trip, was performing a practice emergency maneuver where it shoots quickly to the oceans surface. The practice of taking civilians aboard submarines is being reviewed by the Navy.

Seems like treason by the old, classical definition.

Prince Bandar saw the top secret war plans even before Colin Powell did.

Why?

I thought the conservatives' heads would explode when this came out, but of course anything Bush does is good to them.

28. Yes, the number scandals are so important
all the periodic reports about inflation and employment had the numbers monkeyed with in one way or another.

Also remember they fired the park service employee who was the whistle-blower when she said said they were cutting programs back too far. Robert Kennedy jr.'s book has many of the environmental scandals.

Also, postponing the OTC release of the contraceptive Plan B even though the FDA had approved it for sale, they came up with some age standard.

All male picture of the signing of the anti-late term abortion bill.

Andy Card's cousin being accused of treason, actually I haven't heard any follow up on that one.

23. Started his administration right off
with the "destruction of the White House by the outgoing Clinton administration" bullshit.

OK, not a biggie, relatively speaking. But my tinfoil theory is that it was a test. How would it go over? How well could Bush minions be counted on to overlook little things like lack of evidence? how enthusiastically would they continue to support him despite what was obviously a lie on his part? Better to find out on something minor, before proceeding to the more serious shit.

And that is my theory, which is mine, and is my theory too.

43. Here are some more.
The Justice Department seeking to get medical records of women who had late-term abortions.

Republican staffers' disruption of vote counting in Florida during November 2000. We have photos, for crying out loud!

The failure of the following people to recuse themselves in the recount matter and subsequent legal decisions:

*Justice Antonin Scalia, whose two sons worked on the Bush legal team.
*Justice Clarence Thomas, whose wife, Virginia, was employed by the Bush-Cheney team.
*Jeb Bush, brother of G.W. Bush
*Katherine Harris, who headed up Bush's Florida campaign.

Our tax dollars going, via the Education Department, to programs that promote vouchers and other administration objectives. Bill Bennnett's (yes, that Bill Bennett) organization has had quite a windfall through that particular resource.

Boys and girls, can you say ETHICAL TIN EAR?

Ousting Arabic speakers from the military -- because they are gay. (Okay, it's legal, but pretty damned stupid and dangerous, too).

Worst of all, the press has been mostly asleep for the past four years and never seized on any of this the way they salivated over that blue dress. If Watergate happened today, or the Army-McCarthy hearings, I'm sure they'd just yawn and roll over.
