A major theme is anti-protectionist. The lead digital mind perverts the protectionist laws to determine that martial law must be implemented to keep humans from harming themselves. It cites war and environmental destruction as examples of humans hurting themselves, so the solution is to take away freedom to keep humans from committing more harm.

The martial law takeover scene was great. I enjoyed the film and recommend it.
