I have $80 to contribute. Tell me whom I should donate it to.
I made an earlier post saying I had $100, but I've been recently forced to reduce it to $80.

So, who should I donate it to? The DNC? MoveOn? Obama? Ginny Schrader? Anyone want to give suggestions and/or a breakdown of how much to give to whom? (Example: $50 to DNC and $30 to MoveOn? $40 to DNC and $20 each to Obama and Schrader?)

1. How about Richard Morrison?
He's running against the true evildoer Delay in Texas.

3. hard to argue with that. I was gonna say moveon.org, but -
anybody running against The Bug Man would happily get my $ if I had any to give.

8. What's the point of giving money to Kerry...
if he won't be able to spend any of it after next week's convention?

20. Why are they asking for donations right up to the deadline
if they can't spend it?

23. I've been wondering about that too.
The only way this makes sense is if they can spend the money, provided it was raised before the nomination is formally accepted. Otherwise we're better off donating to MoveOn et al.

4. Easy call either way - the Kos 8....
http://www.dailykos.com/
Kos has selected a group of candidates who have need of support and for whom the money would be most effective - ie, they're not running in places where they have no chance, neither are they candidates who have a lock. They're the people for whom every penny counts a great deal, and I think this is where your bucks would be most effective.

9. I will most certainly donate to them.....
...but probably AFTER the election, not right now.

They look like an organization that's more involved in building for the long term than directly helping in this year's election.

long-term asset.

15. DFA is supporting grassroots candidates right now 400 of them
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 08:31 AM by TeacherCreature
If you give to them now or to the candidates they are supporting you will be helping to reform the party and getting big business out of the equation.

10. 40 to Kerry to prove that many small donors have more influence over
politics than a few super large corporations, and 40 to the MoveOn.org's four candidates they're promoting to show the power of liberal bundling for a few very good, underfunded candidates who can really make a difference in national politics.

16. skip the Kerry donation
He has enough corporate money to survive for the next few days. He will be getting tax payer money and that will be all he can spend soon.
Give to grassroots candidate who really need your help.
Check out the Dean dozen list. Kos also has a list of candidates who need your help.

22. Stan Matsunaka running against Marilyn Musgrave...
Please consider giving it to Stan Matsunaka:

www.stan2004.com

He's pulling 45%-45% against the infamous Marilyn Musgrave and we're going to end her shameful career in Congress.

Stan is one of the "dKos 8" endorsed at www.dailykos.com.
