http://www.dvdanswers.com/index.php?r=0&s=1&c=4407

"I'm afraid that we have no details on the extra material yet either, although Michael Moore has stated that he plans to include many bonus features that he shot personally, as well as plenty of news footage and other such materials. As soon as we have further details on this one, we'll let you know."

4. Get ready for Round II
There will be stores that refuse to sell it: Wal Mart, probably Blockbuster, and probably another "Move America Forward" campaign to boycott and threaten chains that sell it. A month before the election these people are bound to get really hysterical.

7. I dunno
I mean I can totally see Wal-Mart not selling it but here's the deal: if that DVD is selling like freaking hotcakes (and I predict it will, especially with the election less than a month away at that point and a LOAD of people would rather watch a DVD than go to the theater) then that chain is GONNA stock it. They aren't going to lose out on that cash!

That means Blockbuster WILL stock it. As will Hollywood Video, etc. They both carry Bowling for Columbine as well as other out of the mainstream stuff (even more out of it that is).

So I think if this thing is making cash registers ring like crazy, you'll see it in a lot more places than you think. The almighty dollar, man.

10. As a former Blockbuster employee...
You are absolutely right. I remember right before "Bowling For Columbine" was released on VHS/DVD, a freeper-woman came into our store, looked at the "Coming Soon" section and said to me "Ohhhh, you're going to carry that movie? I'm surprised, no one will rent it after his speech at the Oscars". Not wanting to risk losing my job, I didn't say anything to her (although I did give her a "are you nuts?" look and an under-my-breath pfft). I regret the fact that I never saw her in the store again, as I missed out on the extreme pleasure of letting her know that when it was released, it was our hottest-renting and selling movie for a solid month (which is a LONG time in the rental biz)- we stocked (on my recollection) approx. 40 DVD copies, and 20 VHS copies for rental purposes. We could NOT keep the rentals in stock- as soon as one came back in, it would go right back out.

So, I think Blockbuster will rent it- if it brings them money, they'll carry it.

14. Thanks for that info - I'll preorder it from Blockbuster
to do my part to encourage them to stock it. I don't normally buy or rent from Blockbuster, but I'm willing to do my part....

Also, most discount chains like Best Buy will carry it, even if Walmart doesn't.

8. Blockbuster
Blockbuster probably will sell it. They're actually pretty good at being "fair" to our side. They did carry "Bowling For Columbine", and even had "The Reagans" TV-movie on their New Release wall the week of Ronnie's funeral- bet the Repubs. loved that one :)

11. Oh no, not negative press and attempts to prevent sales!
Look what that did to the showing of F911 in the theaters. <sarcasm off>

Bring 'em on - let them do another campaign against the film. Moore won't be able to produce enough DVD's to satisfy the market.

17. not sure it's true...
Sometimes DVD announce dates are more hopeful than firm. Michael Moore was on Howard Stern this morning and when asked when it was coming out, he said that there is no date because it's still doing so well in the theaters...
