Big time liberal stars in Hollywood, and how liberal?
I'm curious, and I know there are a lot.

2. Um, other than Bruce Willis&Mel Gibson, the entire A-Plus list is liberal
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 05:31 AM by Bombtrack
George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Harrison Ford, Nicole Kidman, Jack Nicholson, Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks, Renée Zellweger, Renée Zellweger, Cameron Diaz, Robert Di Nero, Ben Affleck(who's probably not on it anymore post-Gigli), Matt Damon

There are a few who haven't expressed political views really, but it's probably more likely that they're more left than right. Such as Adam Sandler, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, Russel Crowe, Brad Pitt etc. Although I should note that a few of these people such as Pitt and Halle are too stupid to really have an opinion. And Tom Cruise is an idiot with an opinion.

3. ...and I'm not convinced those two actually are pukes
Neither of them have ever donated one dime to the GOP.

I think http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail.php?last=Norris&first=Chuck">Chuck Norris and Ben Stein are the only true ones left. Bully for them.

4. But neither of them are really "big time" stars
Norris is hella-washed up. And Stein has morphed into a Faux news financial contributor.

5. I know...that's what makes it funny (and pathetic)
I think the most recent superstars to donate republican (Sinatra, Stewart, Wayne) are dead. RIP

Hell, even Arnold mostly donates to Dems:

8. Yeah, Ben Stein and Wayne Rogers (a/k/a Trapper John) as
financial advisers on Faux news is still something that bugs me and at the same time makes me laugh. What credibility!

9. Or the professional wrestler/financial advisor on CNBC
Bradshaw, the guy who's most noteworthy tip was to invest in WWE stock.

And who got fired for imitating a Hitler goosestep at a show in Germany.

10. I mean the "celebs" being financial advisers
is such a joke - ole W Rogers needs to go watch some MASH episodes and remember that the show was not just a comedy, but a political satire reflecting the horrors and atrocities of war. Guess since Alan Alda "stole" the show from him he just has become a nasty, pouting, repuke financier.

:puke:

12. I have a friend who worked on the set of a Bruce Willis movie...
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 09:41 AM by AP
...in the early 90s, when Willis was already famous for moonlighting, but wasn't yet a huge movie star.

The movie was filmed somewhere within comuting distance of where Willis grew up in NJ. A bunch of people with whom he worked before he went out to CA came to the set to see him and my friend said Willis wouldn't come out of his trailer to say hello to them.

My friend said it was incredibly awkward for the crew as well as for these (former) friends.

After hearing this story, I'm wasn't surprised that he's a Repuke.

(I should add that notwithstanding this (second-hand) story, and Willis's politics, he seems like he's a relly funny, normal guy when he's interviewed on Letterman these days; maybe he has changed?)

7. Julia Roberts is a Bush basher
Quote:

"The man's embarrassing. He's not my president and he never will be either"

And Brad Pitt's wife called Bush "...a fucking idiot", so I assume something's rubbed off on Mr. Pitt, though he doesn't really get political in interviews and at events.

13. woody harrelson roxxer
"This is a racist and imperialist war. The warmongers who stole the White House (you call them "hawks", but I would never disparage such a fine bird) have hijacked a nation's grief and turned it into a perpetual war on any non-white country they choose to describe as terrorist.

To the men in Washington, the world is just a giant Monopoly board. Oddly enough, Americans generally know how the government works. The politicians do everything they can for the people - the people who put them in power. The giant industries that are polluting our planet as well as violating human rights worldwide are the ones nearest and dearest to the hearts of American politicians.

But in wartime people lose their senses. There are flags and yellow ribbons and posters and every media outlet is beating the war drum and even sensible people can hear nothing else. In the US, God forbid you should suggest the war is unjust or that dropping cluster bombs from 30,000ft on a city is a cowardly act. When TV satirist Bill Maher made some dissenting remarks about the bombing of Afghanistan, Disney pulled the plug on him. In a country that lauds its freedom of speech, a word of dissent can cost you your job."

anyone have a link for this? hehe couldnt find one =)
