Scott petterson guilt and righties... |
|
What I find interesting is that most righties i talk to believe that petterson is guilty as sin... Well just look at all the evidence that is pointing at him... Then we talk about bush and all the crap he has done and we get.. "well we dont know all the facts" or "isnt he innocent until proven guilty?" lol.. just another thing i find so amusing by righties lol

1. You have to understand |

that Scott Peterson is accused of having killed the unborn and is therefore despicable slime, whereas GWB has only arranged for the post born to die.

3. Right wingers always think like that. |
|
That's one of the explanations of the Clinton years. They found a guilty party (Clinton) and spent eight years and tens of millions of dollars trying to find his crime.
They think anyone who is arrested is automatically guilty, even if they're not guilty of the crime they were arrested for, if they were arrested at all they're probably guilty of something.
Same with everybody on death row. So the DA was trying to get reelected and grabbed the first poor slob who sort of fit the description off the street and ignored all the exculpatory evidence. That guy wouldn't have been in the area to be grabbed if he wasn't up to no good, right?
It's a sickening mindset, only one of the right wing pattern that we have to fight continuously.

...what their reaction would be if a member of their own family was wrongly arrested and imprisoned?
"If they were arrested, they are obviously guilty."
Somehow, I don't think that's the way it would go.

4. Its the general hypocrisy of them as a group. |
|
They want to save the unborn babies, but execute people as soon as they are convicted, whether they are guilty or not. My MIL is a prime example of this.
She is a nice woman, a mother, a grandmother, but she has taken the propaganda and internalized it.
So, she believes that abortion is murder, at any stage. In fact, when I had a miscarriage, she was against my getting a needed D&C, because it is "the same as having an abortion". Her son, my husband, told her to shut up on that one.
However, she thinks that the death penalty is just fine and dandy. In fact, she even has trouble with the idea of "innocent until proven guilty" because she thinks that "everyone knows" who the guilty ones are.
So, I don't discuss politics with her. At 77, she's not going to change and she is my children's grandmother and the woman to whom I am grateful for raising the wonderful man who I married.
My FIL is another kettle of fish altogether....he's a closeted liberal. Doesn't say much, but privately thanks me for challenging his daughters on their politics. Go figure.
