A drowning man will cling to a straw...Repubs are clinging to Berger story |
|
...like a drowning man to a straw. They have nothing else to cling to. They can't talk about WMDs anymore. It has no credibility. They have nothing so when this story came along, they jumped like a chicken to a junebug...Oh look! There's a fire! Oh, never mind, the neighbors are only roasting marshmallows....

1. Yeah, it's not like servicemen and women killed because of lies. |
|
Or anything "trivial" like that.

anymore about how desparate these people really are. But some of the GOP performances in the last couple of days were mind-boggling.
For Instance:
That tacky little media event with Santorum and Chambliss going before the cameras to spread misinformation and outright lies with those pathetic "grave and serious" expressions.
That equally crappy press event with Tom Delay, complete with a backdrop of paid REpub staffers, raising the issue of a "National Security Crisis".
Then, of course, there's CNN's McCafferty this morning repeating the lie about Berger stuffing documents in his socks.
You have to hand it to the Repubs though, they coordinate these events very well; they don't miss either a trick or an opportunity. After Nov. 2, they'll have promising careers ahead of them as Wedding Planners.

5. Bush is holding a PC in the Rose Garden re: 9/11 Commission report.. |
|
I guess they thought the Berger revelation they've been holding in their hip pocket since last Oct was going to overtake the long awaited 9/11 Report if the report turned out unfavorable. It seems they've gotten the report to play the way they wanted..and I suppose they'll let Sandy off the hook now that Bush has been absolved of all responsibility for the attack.

7. This wouldn't even be a story |
|
except for the fact that the media is spending so much time on it. Once again, the media continues to drink the Kool Aide and find every excuse in the book, to avoid talking about any of the real scandals.
The media's roll, in continuing to protest the WH, is to the point of criminal culpability.

http://www.ajc.com/opinion/content/opinion/0704/22letters.htmlBut dying for lies and upward distribution of wealth don't matter to these idiots. Sex shops, recognition of same-gender marriages, and increasing the prison population do matter.

he told guards to leave the room because he had to make phone calls that they were not allowed to hear. Apparently, this is illegal.
Story in WP says the guards had an eye on him and were suspicious of one of his follow up visits because they suspected documents were missing previously.
The thing I don't get is what does Berger have to gain by stealing copies that others already have knowledge to. I really think this whole thing is bull shit but it is definitely getting a lot of play.
