How times have changed huh? I think the term Dixie Chicked no longer applies. More and more people are coming to the defense of the folks who are speaking out. More and more people are becoming alarmed about the Bolshevik attitudes of people who try to shut someone down for their opinion. I sense that there is a spark of hope for this Country and pray that our voices against these anti-free speechers grows stronger each day...

Viva la America!

er...wake up Honey, you're dreaming....

since the press failed to ask the questions of Bush, it's time the actual people, celebrity or not, do so

2. I think it's the backlash against them speaking out that matters
I'm sure there are a lot of people who couldn't care less about Whoopi Goldberg or Linda Ronstadt (for example) and they wouldn't necessarily budge one way or another just because they made some statement against Bush.

However, the over-reactions of the opposing side may be causing people to be more vocal in their support of the principle of free-speech which comes across as support for the speaker.

I don't think that most of those people are necessarily going to purchase or patronize Goldberg's or Ronstadt's future projects or products though.

I was totally opposed to the criticism that the Dixie Chicks experienced but I still have no desire to purchase any of their albums.
