Bush response to report: "learning what went wrong prior to Sept 11th?
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 09:15 AM by DoYouEverWonder
"They've done a really good job of learning about our country, learning what went wrong prior to Sept. 11 and making very solid, sound recommendations about how to move forward," he said. "I assured them that where government needs to act, we will."

Wasn't their job supposed to be to find out what went wrong ON SEPT 11th?

Of course, a hand picked commission didn't want look to closely at the WH and DOD and their lack of reaction on 9-11? Oh no, can't look at what happened ON SEPT 11th, then they might have had to blame someone for screwing everything up that day.

1. You Obviously Don't Understand
See, BUSH was President on September 11. If they studied what went wrong on September 11, they might find fault with Bush.

They must study what went wrong PRIOR to September 11. Of the 8 years and 9 months before September 11, BILL KLINTOON was Presdident for 8 years of that. So obviously it's mostly his fault.

2. They were specifically ordered NOT to place blame.
I remember this clearly from the time the commision was created. They were ordered to recommend measures to make sure it didn't happen again, and specifically to NOT place blame.

And now pundits are saying that since the report doesn't place blame, then no one is responsible. How short our memories are!

"Do you remember?"

3. We Know What Happened ON 9/11
Planes destroyed the WTC and made a big hole in the Pentagon,
and George just sat there reading the Pet Goat book.

NO fighter planes were following those planes despite long-standing
orders. This means that SOMEONE ordered them to stand down, and
it would have to be someone VERY high up, to have that authority.

The only thing we don't know for sure is whether it was LIHOP
or MIHOP.

"Further, the process of transformation,
even if it brings revolutionary change, is
likely to be a long one, absent some
catastrophic and catalyzing event like a
new Pearl Harbor."
