Why can't the 9/11 report being printed on copier paper
and stapled in the corners, or placed in a three-ring binder? I've been involved in the printing industry my whole professional life, and I know what it costs to print nice, perfect-bound books with fancy color covers. Meanwhile, we're told the military has no money and is cutting back on training, supplies, etc...but we have money for a pretty coffee table book about Bush's failure as a leader. How many millions could have been saved by just putting out the facts, and leaving the fancy layout and design to the private-sector?

It's our money, or so Bush was so fond of lying to us.

1. Because a bound book looks prettier on the shelf...Where it is being put
as we type.

2. That's Not Where the Waste Is
Billions are being wasted in Iraq because of a lack of controls. Bush doesn't want too much accountability. Everything questionable is classified.

Exactly.

Freakin' exactly. The report is WORTHLESS. The stuff we wanted and needed to know all got redacted and we were left with 500 pages of stuff any DUer could have told them two years ago.

3. If it's bound
You'll know if pages have been ripped out. Also, it would be harder to replace pages in it. Although... a plastic spiral binding would probably be both cheap, and more secure.
