Should Kerry tax the ultra rich to pay for this war?
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 12:24 PM by DaveSZ
I say yes.

:)

It would be great if he could only tax wealthy Bush financeers, but it's too bad that's not the case.

Of course, with a Repug Congress he won't get anything done.

I'd love to see the top income tax tier be at 50% or so! Not just to pay for the costs of this fiasco in Iraq, but to pay for programs that help the poor and middle-class.

8. I think that would make a great theme.
bush*/cheney says I don't support the troops. Well I call on them to rescind the tax cuts for the wealthy in this coutnry who can not only easily afford it, but should demand to do their fair share. That means a lot of people in Congress will see their taxes go up, mine included, as well as bush* and cheney*s. I am ready, willing and able to make a personal sacrifice, why are bush* and cheney so unwilling to do their part? Why do they undermine our troops with deficits that threaten our ability to maintain our men and women in harm's way. As President I will provide leadership by example and share the burden of our battlefield patriots by rescinding bush*s unpatriotic tax cuts on the wealthy!

Put your money where there life is, Meestar boosh*! Do your fair share!!

12. Top 1-2%
maybe top 5%, regardless the taxes need to be raised anyway...schools lack funding, people lack healthcare and the national debt is balloning out of control.

11. CLose loopholes for corporations that have PO Boxes on islands
to claim they are 'foreign based operations' so they can avoid paying taxes. That $$ would pay for more than a war. We might just make progress slowing down the crubmling of America's infastructure (which these corps. use to make $$) and maybe educate kids, take care of medical care for the working poor...
