1. KEY FINDINGS
KEY FINDINGS
U.S. leaders did not understand the "gravity of the threat."

The United States wasn't prepared to meet al Qaeda's challenges.

Terrorism wasn't the chief security concern of the Bush or Clinton administrations.

Failures to thwart 9/11 highlight agencies' inability to adapt to new problems.

CIA effectiveness was limited by use of intermediaries to pursue Osama bin Laden.

Information and analysis wasn't shared across agencies

14. Huh?
Terrorism wasn't the chief security concern of the Bush or Clinton administrations.

That's BULLSHIT. Did they not bother to listen to a word Richard Clarke said in his testimony? I am assuming they didn't bother to read his book either. Clinton spent most of his 8 years on terrorism. It consumed him and his administration.

3. George W. Bush isn't held responsible for anything
It's everybody's fault (including Clinton's) therefore it's nobody's fault. There is no way in Hell the country can come together without holding the "Boy King" responsible. Until somebody tells the truth.
Nothing will get done. They blew it.

6. 9/11 Commission: The official coverup guide
9/11 Commission: The official coverup guide

The Kean Commission came to New York the second week of May for a two-day set of hearings at The New School University. As hundreds of Sept. 11th family members, reporters and curious New Yorkers lined up for airport-style security checks, they received copies of a new 24-page booklet published by NY 9/11 Truth, with help from 911Truth.org.

"Scamming America: The Official 9/11 Cover-up" is named after a quote by former Sen. Max Cleland, who resigned from the commission last November with the words, "Bush is scamming America."

Cleland attacked his own commission after the other members cut a deal to accept highly limited access to CIA reports to the White House that may indicate advance knowledge of the attacks on the part of the Bush administration. "This is a scam," Cleland said. "It's disgusting. America is being cheated."

"As each day goes by," Cleland said, "we learn that this government knew a whole lot more about these terrorists before September 11 than it has ever admitted.... Let's chase this rabbit into the ground. They had a plan to go to war and when 9/11 happened that's what they did; they went to war."

The new booklet features articles about the Kean Commission's breathtaking conflicts of interest and complete failure to ask any of the questions about September 11 that really matter.

7. $elling Out the Investigation
$elling Out the Investigation
By Bill Manning

For more than three months, structural steel from the World Trade Center has been and continues to be cut up and sold for scrap. Crucial evidence that could answer many questions about high-rise building design practices and performance under fire conditions is on the slow boat to China, perhaps never to be seen again in America until you buy your next car.

Such destruction of evidence shows the astounding ignorance of government officials to the value of a thorough, scientific investigation of the largest fire-induced collapse in world history. I have combed through our national standard for fire investigation, NFPA 921, but nowhere in it does one find an exemption allowing the destruction of evidence for buildings over 10 stories tall.

Fire Engineering has good reason to believe that the "official investigation" blessed by FEMA and run by the American Society of Civil Engineers is a half-baked farce that may already have been commandeered by political forces whose primary interests, to put it mildly, lie far afield of full disclosure. Except for the marginal benefit obtained from a three-day, visual walk-through of evidence sites conducted by ASCE investigation committee members- described by one close source as a "tourist trip"-no one's checking the evidence for anything...... As things now stand and if they continue in such fashion, the investigation into the World Trade Center fire and collapse will amount to paper- and computer-generated hypotheticals.

Clearly, there are burning questions that need answers. Based on the incident's magnitude alone, a full-throttle, fully resourced, forensic investigation is imperative. More important, from a moral standpoint, for the safety of present and future generations who live and work in tall buildings-and for firefighters, always first in and last out-the lessons about the buildings' design and behavior in this extraordinary event must be learned and applied in the real world.

To treat the September 11 incident any differently would be the height of stupidity and ignorance.

The destruction and removal of evidence must stop immediately.

The federal government must scrap the current setup and commission a fully resourced blue ribbon panel to conduct a clean and thorough investigation of the fire and collapse, leaving no stones unturned.

8. Citizens group releases critique of flawed 9/11 Commission process:

Citizens group releases critique of flawed 9/11 Commission process:
Will final report resolve questions?

WASHINGTON, DC, 9/11 CitizensWatch, a public group that has monitored the national 9/11 Commission and demanded transparency, accountability, and a thorough investigation, will release a critique of the process used by the National Commission on Terrorist Acts Upon the United States ("9/11 Commission") just hours before the Commission’s release of its own final report. "We have discovered conflicts of interest, contradictions in testimony and a conformity of witnesses presented at the 9/11 Commission's hearings," said co-founder John Judge, "as well as flawed premises that will likely lead to incorrect conclusions about the events surrounding September 11, 2001 and unsound recommendations for our future security." Copies of the 9/11 CitizensWatch critique will be available on Thursday July 22, 2004 at a press conference in the Lisagor Room at the National Press Club from 9 - 10 am. (529 14th St. NW, 13th Floor)

The 9/11 Commission's report is the result of a flawed process, demonstrated by obstructions from the White House, conflicts of interest among members and staff, and a lack of sworn testimony from many of their sources. Researchers have analyzed transcripts from the hearings and discovered omissions of key topics that omit:

-- the historical context to the tragedy,

-- a coherent explanation of the failed NORAD/FAA responses, any investigation into the source of the anthrax attacks, and

--the release of non-classified evidence and documents to support conclusions.

These and other omissions and shortcomings are likely to leave many family members' questions unanswered and responsible officials held unaccountable. The report may fail to resolve public doubts about the Commission’s reconstruction of events. Commission statements and testimony have so far failed to clearly identify the ultimate source of the attacks and their funding channels.

9. The Family Steering Committee for the 9/11 Independent Commission

The Family Steering Committee for the 9/11 Independent Commission
Statement Regarding the Final Report

July 20, 2004

Since December of 2002, and the passage of Public Law 107-306, the Family Steering Committee has scrupulously followed the course of the 9/11 Commission. In fact, from the Commission's very inception, the FSC sought to maintain a close working relationship with the Commission by providing it with our documented research, along with the questions it generated, and by communicating our concerns about the progress of the investigation.

While we believe that our concerns were acknowledged, we had also hoped that more of our questions and those of the American public would be fully addressed during the public hearings, or at the very least, discussed in the prepared staff statements. Yet today, many of our collective questions remain unanswered.

These questions must be comprehensively addressed and clearly answered by the Commission in the final report so that everyone is able to understand and assess our nation's past and current security policies, protocols and procedures. Our objective has always been to better protect and defend our nation from the ongoing threat of terrorism.

Although we have made some progress since September 11th, preliminary 9/11 Commission reports and witness testimony illustrate that we remain vulnerable and at great risk of a future attack. Many of the deadly mistakes and failures that contributed to the terrorists’ success on 9/11 have yet to be corrected. The "vital dialogue and debate" that our elected leaders espoused has been cast aside because of election year politics. The vulnerabilities in our security network cannot be rectified until they have been identified through a process in which issues are thoroughly examined, witnesses are fully questioned, accountability is wholly assigned and sound conclusions are ultimately drawn. It is only after this vetting process that we - the American people - can be confident that critically important changes and reforms will be expeditiously implemented.

11. Here's my summation of the presentation on CNN this morning
Every institution is responsible...blah blah....nobody is responsible..blah blah..they despise America(blah blah never ask why or how to change that) blah blah..great Bi-Partisan effort (whitewash) blah blah blah...we are not safe...the threat is just as grave now...blah blah..the commission members did a fantastic job!*

*When I got to this wankfest part of the bullshit, I changed to Spongebob Squarepants. It has more relevance to reality to me. No wonder Americans want diversions.

They always take time to congratulate themselves! They did this during the public hearings, "Oh thank you for your great service, oh wise one, Condeleeza Rice."

Shame will be the legacy in history. Too bad we don't get to read NOW what worthless pieces of excuse we had for leadership until those history books are written.

Shame.

13. CIA Rebuffs 9/11 Commission Criticism
CIA Rebuffs 9/11 Commission Criticism

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The CIA (news - web sites) defended itself against criticism in the Sept. 11 commission report on Thursday and said it had warned of the possibility of terrorists using hijacked planes before the 2001 attacks took place."CIA regularly reported on threats to civil aviation including hijacking," a CIA official said on condition of anonymity to a group of reporters before the report's release.

The report criticized the spy agency, already under fire for its flawed intelligence on Iraq (news - web sites)'s banned weapons before last year's invasion, for failing to properly understand the threat of the al Qaeda movement that carried out the attacks.

It slammed the agency's methods as "Cold War" and bemoaned the lack of any expansion in the CIA's paramilitary operations in the face of potential terrorist attacks.

The strong defense by CIA appeared intended to forestall further criticism of the agency, whose director, George Tenet, resigned in the face of a barrage of complaints about intelligence failures in Iraq and over Sept. 11.
