talked to someone recently who had bought the whole line of France bashing.

said things like "France is just a little country full of crazy people." "We've saved France's ass 100s of times"

(I replied; first France saved our ass and later we saved theirs. the score is one for one.)

sue FoxNews, make them back up their mouthings with fact.

And as for all those other times America ("we") "saved" the French, I suppose the English and the Russians (and Italians during WWI) were just on the sidelines watching as the US took on Kaiser Wilhelm and Hitler. In the case of the First World War, America was late to the game. Actually, the same pretty much goes for WWII as well.

2. That 'we saved their asses' line is bullshit.

OK, let's say you and I are buddies. We are walking down the street together and a old antagonist jumps you from behind and starts beating the hell out of you. I stand there looking at the scene for 5 minutes, occasionally asking if you need help. He beats you unconscious, steals your wallet, and takes off.

A couple years later, me and 2 big friends finally confront the guy and beat the hell out of him.

Now, is that what a real friend would do, or would a real friend jump in a the first sign of trouble, when you REALLY needed him.

The France had been at war for 3 years in WWI and had already lost millions of men before we deigned to 'help' them. And France had already been knocked out of the war in WWII and we didn't even bother to help them until Japan finally forced our hand.

3. The whole "french people are wusses" thing

really pisses me off. I mean, for christ's sake, they've had two fucking world wars fought on their land; the first one wiped out hundreds of thousands of young people. By the second war, the army wasn't that big; PLUS, it was the fucking blitzkreig; if Canada had hit us the way Germany hit France, people in New York would be saying "eh". The only reason we won in WWII is that we had no enemies on our continent, and had a long ass time to gear up for war
