Hannity: "Have You Seen Linda Ronstadt Lately?"
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 03:26 PM by CO Liberal
"She looks like Roseanne!"

He just said that on his radio pukefest, in reaction to Linda' recent appearance at the Alladin in Las Vegas and her favorable comments about Michael Moore.

Proof once again that this brain-dead little Nazi has nothing left but to attack people's appearance. Funny that he never has anything bad to say about Ann KKKoulter's resemblance to a 12-year-old boy.....

3. Sean Insanity makes me sick.
As if he's Mr. Handsome himself! My nieces and I went book-shopping a few weekends ago. There was a big display of his "Deliver Us From Eeeeeevil" book, and the younger one (3 1/2) pointed at him and said, "Aunt Dawn, that man is a stranger. No talking to strangers! Stranger Danger!"

Out of the mouths of babes......

78. Another Nathan fan here.
But it's cheap and snotty for Hannity (hm -- cheap, snotty=Hannity) to make snippy comments about a singer's weight. Deborah Voigt isn't svelte but she's got more talent in her than Hannity can ever dream of.

Besides, 25 years from now, people will have heard of Linda Ronstadt. Hannity will eventually be forgotten.

49. You are consuming the Hannity product.
Even if you hate him, it makes you talk about him. Repetition promotes. Posting on DU about Hannity gets everyone thinking about the Hannity product, every reply brings it to the top, fresh. People looking for new topics see the brand again at the top, with new responses, and think again about Hannity. Chances are, others will listen to him because of it. The value of his airtime has nothing to do with whether or not you buy the products advertised, it has to do with whether or not you were exposed to them. If you listened, you were, and Hannity benefits.

22. personal attacks--for when you have no point to make
personal attacks demonstrate that you no longer have a valid point to your arguement and, in order to regain a lost sense of personal power over the fact that you have no point to make, you launch into attacks about the person or their looks. If God struck him dead in mid sentence, I'd love to see him explain why he shouldn't go to hell for his blackened soul.

66. It's been an interesting week
It seems that a lot of folks from other websites, folks of rather limited intelligence (if you know what I mean), have been coming to DU to try to stir up trouble. They're usually identifiable by low post counts and references to unreliable sources, as well as hysterical stutterpost overreaction to even the mildest requests for further information about their posts.

They also almost universally practice poor personal hygiene, have an inflated sense of their own cleverness, and an unjustified sense of accomplishment when they're not immediately spotted as phonies and imposters.

Which, naturally, has nothing whatsoever to do with you; I'm just explaining.

67. Some people's favorite phrase here: "Link please"
Yes, it is proper to back stuff up when you can. Not everybody at work has the time to do that, while some of those sitting there calling "Link please" have plenty of time but apparently want someone else to do it for them. You were polite in saying you didn't presently have time to find the link.

What kills me is the assumption that if there's a link to something, it must be true. Sometimes you see stuff IN PRINT - actual, old-fashioned hard copy -- that you can't find on the internet. But because you can't link to it, it must not be true.

Hang in there, and welcome.

But not in reality....he was brought up somehow by Limbaugh....and owes everything to him (or so he says) so there's a lot of sucking going on in the background....and he follows in his hatemongering nazi style....

But paints the picture of rising up with a pure attitude of success...and then of course achieving that success.

I believe he was strategically implanted as a "good ol Irish boy" with a lot of persistence (not necessarily personality or entertainment potential) to bring on the Irish fighting zeal and apparent honesty IMAGE to their cause.

33. Not as Simple As That
Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 03:18 PM by CO Liberal
Linda Ronstadt has Hashimoto's disease.

From www/familydoctor.org:

What is Hashimoto's disease?

Hashimoto's disease is a problem with your thyroid gland located in your neck. The thyroid gland makes hormones that control how your body uses energy. When you have Hashimoto's disease, your immune system begins to attack your thyroid gland, causing it to become swollen and irritated. When this happens, your thyroid can't make hormones as it should.

What are the symptoms of Hashimoto's disease?

These are some of the symptoms someone with the disease may have:

o Because the thyroid gland may swell when you have Hashimoto's disease, you may have a feeling of fullness or tightness in your throat.

o You may have trouble swallowing food or liquids.

o You might notice a swelling or bump (called a goiter) in the front of your neck.

o You may experience tiredness, forgetfulness, depression, coarse dry skin, slow heartbeat, weight gain, constipation and intolerance to cold.

Many people with this disease have no symptoms at all. An ordinary blood test may just show that the thyroid hormones are out of balance.

I have hashimotos disease and my thyroid had to be removed.I went a whole year thinking about suicide and wondered why?A growth appeared, the thyroid was removed and my doctors are still trying to find the proper amount of medication.I don't have severe weight problem but I constantly have to exercise and diet.
I urge everyone to ask their doctor to check the thyroid (blood test)because if the growth hadn't appeared I might have acted on my thoughts.Doing fine now.

I had problems and the standard test made several times in both US and Canada.

In the teaching hospital in CA, there was a visiting specialist who was convinced this was what I had and ordered further tests. And this is what I have in addition to pernicious anemia (also auto immune disease.

47. Rupert's Cabana-boy is no prize himself!
Besides, the way Ronstadt can sing, who CARES what she looks like? She could turn me on with one note!

Question, re: Hashimoto's disease. If it attacks the thyroid, why don't they just nuke the thyroid and balance the hormone level with Synthroid? I had a very hyperthyroid condition some years ago, and that's what they did. No problems since then. But I do take Synthroid forever.

58. Makes Sense.....

He always refers to himself as "a conservative Republican in the tradion of Ronald Reagan". Figures that he'd use the same hair coloring that Ronnie did....

I like 2015.

(You KNOW that boy lost a lot of lunch money growing up...)

attack the person's appearance. We all know ugly fat people are never right.

72. free beauty tip for Sean
When left untended (like for more than half an hour) his hairline has an unfortunate tendency to grow down until it becomes one with his unibrow. Which can only be prevented by hours of plucking and forehead-shaving each day.

And even then they have to come out with the wax strips during every commercial break.

But my advice is to find a new aesthetician. The one he has currently is letting that hairline sit way too low on his forhead. I think if they shaved off another 3/4 inch it could go a long way to make him look a little less simian.

71. This is certainly par for the course for Hannity...
Although when the story initially came out, there was a thread about it where people were not sure if Ronstadt was supporting Moore or if "Desperado" was a slam directed at him. The initial article that started the thread didn't clarify this point. Some supported Linda and thought (correctly) that it was a true tribute to Moore, others thought (incorrectly) that it was an attack on Moore. The second group were certainly not kind to Linda's talent, career, or physical appearance.

76. Linda Ronstadt has had an amazing career. . .
she's experimented with several different genres of music and distinguished herself in all of them. Who cares what she looks like? And I still think she looks great in her face. Lord knows she's got more talent in her pinkie than Rush & Sean & O'Lielly do all put together.
