"Rape, sodomy, whatever"
My head is hurting. I'm in an argument with some FReeper-type on another board about Seymour Hersh's statements on the video showing two Iraqi boys being raped by US soldiers.

Eventually, this guy asked: "If you think Bush is to blame, then there's a point to your argument, but if you can't prove that Bush is responsible, then there's no point to all this and the soldiers responsible for this were punished."

"How do you know that?" I replied. "What about that one US soldier who killed an Iraqi prisoner with a rock but won't serve time in jail for it?"

"So you're saying that the military condones sodomy, or that they're incompetent? Get real, you know those soldiers were punished."

"We're taking about rape, not consensual sodomy."

"Rape, sodomy, whatever. Does the military condone rape? Just answer the question, already!"

Whatever?!? Excuse me?? I think I need an aspirin. And a hug.

I don't know, maybe the COMMANDER IN CHIEF has some responsibility for what his troops do on his watch, what do you think?
