I Want to Donate to Kerry-Edwards, But . . .

Hopefully someone can help me out.

I want to make a contribution to the Kerry-Edwards campaign. If they cannot use our funds after 7/29, will my donation be futile? Or will the campaign spend all of the money on the last day? How does this work?

I want to help out, so long as I know I'll actually be helping! ;^)

1. I am similarly confused but

I believe that the $$$ can then be transfered to the DNC to use on behalf of the campaign.

2. I think that they use the funds right up through the

convention (the convention costs them a LOT of $$$). After the convention---anything that has not been spent goes to the DNC and Kerry gets his federal $$ to last until the election.

(Of course the DNC can spend the $$ in ways that help Kerry--they will try to help as many Democratic candidates as possible.

4. I believe the window to make donations is closed although

they can still spend the money through next week.

6. I thought Kerry was possibly going to opt out of fed funds, so he

could use any and all funds he receives at any time?????
