Anti Bush(..or Anti-War) Songs
Please list some antiBush songs or if you want, some antiWar songs. I am looking for more recent ones...as in not the typical 60's peace thing.

The newest I can think of is:

Moby and Public Enemy - "MKLVFKWR"

and

Faithless - "Mass Destruction"

and then there was the Rock Against Bush CD

NOFX - "Franco Unamerican"

Offspring - "Bahgdad"

list away please

3. Yo La Tengo
"Nuclear War"

I don't remember where I found it, but a while ago an anti-war site offered it online for free download. Classic...the old Ravi Shankar song updated with a chorus of kids singing "Nuclear war...it's a motherfucker...better kiss your ass...goodbye goodbye!" Very powerful, and fun. And you can dance to it...with enough medication.

7. Tom Lehrer
So Long, Mom (A Song for World War III)
This year we've been celebrating the hundredth anniversary of the Civil War and the fiftieth anniversary of the beginning of World War I and the twentieth anniversary of the end of World War II so all in all it's been a good year for the war buffs and a number of LPs and television specials have come out capitalizing on all this "nostalgia" with particular emphasis on the songs of the various wars. I feel that if any songs are going to come out of World War III we'd better start writing them now. I have one here. You might call it a bit of pre-nostalgia. This is the song that some of the boys sang as they went bravely of to World War III.

So long, Mom,
I'm off to drop the bomb,
So don't wait up for me.
But while you swelter
Down there in your shelter,
You can see me
On your TV.

While we're attacking frontally,
Watch Brinkally and Huntally,
Describing contrapuntally
The cities we have lost.
No need for you to miss a minute
Of the agonizing holocaust. (Yeah!)

Little Johnny Jones he was a U.S. pilot,
And no shrinking vi'let was he.
He was mighty proud when World War Three was declared,
He wasn't scared,
No siree!

And this is what he said on
His way to Armageddon:

So long, Mom,
I'm off to drop the bomb,
So don't wait up for me.
But though I may roam,
I'll come back to my home,
Although it may be
A pile of debris.

Remember, Mommy,
I'm off to get a commie,
So send me a salami,
And try to smile somehow.
I'll look for you when the war is over,
An hour and a half from now!

FLAG DECAL By John Prine

Well while digesting Reader's Digest
In the back of a dirty book store,
A flag decal, with gum on the back,
Fell out on the floor.
So I picked it up and I ran outside
And I slapped on my windowshield,
And if I could see old Betsy Ross now
I tell her how good I feel.

Oh but your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.
They're already overcrowded
From your dirty little wars.
Now Jesus he don't like killin'
No matter what the reason's for,
And your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.

(Well) I went into the bank this morning
and the teller she said to me,
"If you join our Chrismas club
we'll give you ten of those flags for free."
So I didn't mess around a bit
and I took her up on what she said.
And I stuck those stickers all over my car
And one on my wife's forehead.

(Chorus)

(Well) I got my car so stickered up
That I couldn't see.
Then I ran it right upside a curb
And then right into a tree.
By the time they called a doctor down
I was already dead.
And I'll never understand why the man
Standing at the Pearly Gates said...

Final Ch. Oh but your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.
We're already overcrowded
From your dirty little wars.
Now Jesus he don't like killin'
No matter what the reason is for,
And your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.

22. I would like to second that suggestion plus "Sam Stone"
Full lyrics here
http://www.jpshrine.org/lyrics/songs/jpsamstone.html

Sam Stone came home,
To his wife and family
After serving in the conflict overseas.
And the time that he served,
Had shattered all his nerves,
And left a little shrapnel in his knee.
But the morphine eased the pain,
And the grass grew round his brain,
And gave him all the confidence he lacked,
With a Purple Heart and a monkey on his back.

21. Paris -- "What would you do?"
chorus/overlay:

"What would you do if you knew all the things we do?
Would you stand up for true?
Or would you turn away too?
And then what if you saw all of the things that's wrong?
Would you stand tall and strong,
Or would you turn and walk away?"

sample verse:

"Now ask your self who's da one wit the most to gain?
'Fore 9/11 motherf*ckers couldn't stand his name!
Now even crackers wavin' flags like they lost they mind.
Everybody got opinions but don't know the time."

23. America Is Not The World - Morrissey
America your head's too big, Because America, Your belly's too big
And I love you, I just wish you'd stay where you is

In America, The land of the free, they said, And of opportunity, In a just and a truthful way
But where the president, Is never black, female or gay, And until that day
You’ve got nothing to say to me, To help me believe

In America, It brought you the hamburger, Well America you know where, You can shove your hamburger
And don't you wonder, Why in Estonia they say, Hey you, Big fat pig
You fat pig, You fat pig

Steely Blue eyes with no love in them, Scan The World,
And a humourless smile, With no warmth within, Greets the world
And I, I have got nothing, To offer you
No-no-no-no-no
Just this heart deep and true, Which you say you don't need

See with your eyes, Touch with your hands, please, Hear through your ears, Know in your soul, please
For haven't you me with you now?
And I love you, I love you, I love you, And I love you, I love you, I love you

31. FREE Song for YOU!!! (Grassroots, man)
In the past 36 hours, over 1,000 people have downloaded this song for free. The only catch is this...

YOU GOTTA PASS IT ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW ALSO.

No kidding. This phenomenon just began a couple of days ago and it's already spreading to nearly all 50 states... and Denmark, Germany and England.

Here's the link:

http://www.getoutourhouse.com

The song is called "Get Out Our House"

My name is David Ippolito. (Go ahead - Google it.) I'm the luckiest man alive. For the past 13 years, I've been called That Guitar Man from Central Park. I have a fan base of a few hundred thousand people. This song is a gift to anyone who wants to defeat George W. Bush.

I am NOT a Democrat... I am NOT a Republican, or a Liberal, or a Conservative, or a Green, or a Blue or anything else.

I am a registered Independent, and an artist with a conscience.

This is a matter of conscience for me. So, the song is yours. I've dedicated the rest of my year, my music and my career to removing these men and women from my White House.

Join me, okay?

Send this link to everyone you know.
