Finally somebody said "Bush chocked on 9/11". Yeah!!! Now if the Dems would just take that and run with it Kerry would win in a landslide, but I bet they don't. That's exactly what happened: BUSH CHOCKED! Repeat it to everyone you know because Mike Moore showed us Bush chocked.

|
He's saying all the things that need to be said. I liked how he talked about how the speakers at the Democratic convention are actually real Democrats..but the ones at the Rethug Convention are people that don't truly represent the Rethug Party, and how they're not showing the true face of the party, people like Ashcroft...they're trying to paint a 'pretty face' on a party full of nuts.

since when we brought up the 7 minutes of stupified staring Bush did while our country was being attacked, that's the answer all the freepers gave...he didn't want to scare the children. Guess that's what the sheep have been fed. Scaring the children. Is this asinine or what? Unbelievable. The man is the president of the country.

My family has lived in the south since before the Revolutionary War. The great majority of people in my family on both sides are extraordinarily bright: chemists, engineers, VPs of marketing and so on.
However, I'm shocked at the viewpoints of many of my fellow Southerners, especially lately. Five or six years ago I would have said that the South was now not any different than Cleveland or Milwaukee. I retract that statement now. Even here in Atlanta, which is supposed to be the most forward-looking city in the South, is having a rennaisance of backwards-assed thinking.
Oh, well...we still have the nicest weather.

Maher kicked ass tonight.
Why is it that it's non-news media types that seem the most informed about what's going on in the world? I'm talking about Maher, Michael Moore, Jon Stewart. Think somebody like Hannity can form an original thought that's not faxed to him by the RNC? Hell no!
You may agree or disagree with everything Bill Maher says, but the guy makes a hell of a lot of sense. I actually found myself agreeing about everything he said. Even the part about Colin Powell. Maybe he is afraid to leave, because he's the guy keeping them from totally going off the deep end.
When he claimed Bush 'choked' in the classroom on 9/11, it was like he took the words out of my mouth.
And his opinions about Schwarzenegger and Nader seemed to be pretty logical.
Maher's a genius. He's intelligent, well-informed, and funny as hell. Can't wait until next Friday when his HBO show returns.

The bar will have extra business and we'll have our Billy and Mikey... win win win.
I would recommend this idea to anyone here who doesn't get HBO.... make it a weekly event. :) better way to 'spread the word' than hunker down in your living room - you just may change a barkeeps opinion.

70. comedians are the folk singers of bygone days |
|
I keep telling you youngsters that in the days of the 60's, the folk singers were the people out there telling it like it was...they energized a whole generation of people to help us get out of Viet Nam and defeat an oppressive/repressive administration. Today, the comedians have taken over that role...history seems to be making a circle, just hope it doesn't take too long to complete.
1960's...Dylan, Baez, Peter, Paul and Mary, etc etc
2004....Michael Moore, Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, Gary Trudeau, somtimes Letterman
Altho..seems like Linda Ronstadt might be making a comeback...yes!
