EUROPE Bets on a "REGIME CHANGE" in Washington
Europe's Big Bet on a Bush 'Regime Change':
Why some foreign powers are waiting for November

By Michael Hirsh
Newsweek

July 26 issue

(snip)

... John Kerry may have been on to something. The U.S. presidential election is only four months away and "governments in Europe and elsewhere are waiting out," says a former senior foreign-policy official in the Clinton administration. "They don't want to do anything to help Bush." That may be a partisan view, but it is endorsed by several foreign diplomats. Very few will admit, even off the record, that they want to sway the election toward Kerry. But one senior European diplomat, in an interview with NEWSWEEK, came close. "Some countries in the European Union will not do anything to prevent a regime change in Washington," he said.

3. Valid point, read the article
Nobody can predict what they'll do and I'll bet that they won't help. However, I think it is POSSIBLE. And that's why I pointed this story out.

6. They should have a say in it.
As long as the U.S. insists on being the one and only "world leader" then everybody who has to follow that lead should have some say in the specifics of who decides. That's democracy.
