Is this site a parody?
http://www.bushpresident2004.com/

This site is either really badly written, or a parody. Strange...listen to this:

"Immediately after being sworn into office, Attorney General Ashcroft vindicated his reputation as a man of deep religious belief by holding morning prayer meetings with his staff. He also had Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas anoint him with oil in the manner of the ancient Kings of Israel, a ceremony Ashcroft practiced when he was elected Missouri governor and U.S. senator. This symbolized Ashcroft's appointment to Attorney General as blessed by the Lord, and to confirm his dedication to work as God's servant."

1. That's why one apt moniker for him is "Crisco Johnny".
It's a fact (the story).

2. Heh! Has to be:
http://www.bushpresident2004.com/bush-war-on-terror.htm

Unfortunately, one of the terrorist organizations funded by the Saudis was Al Qaeda, headed by Osama Bin Laden. So in the summer of 2001, the Bush Administration disbanded the intelligence unit tracking Al Qaeda's funding. And due to business ties between Bush's father and members of the Bin Laden family through defense contractor Carlyle Corporation, the Bush Administration also held back the FBI from investigating two members of the Bin Laden family that were currently operating inside the United States.

<snip>

Doesn't seem very pro-Bush to me! :)

3. Actually I find this webpage to be pretty clever!
It gives the illusion of being Pro-Bush, but when you get into some of the material, it opens your eyes to how wrong BUsh is. I like it!

4. Oh my god...
this is hilarious! If you just skim it, it looks totally legit, but look at these quotes from "The Bush Team."

Cheney:
One of Halliburton's greatest accomplishments was a contract with other oil companies for the Yadana and Yetagun pipelines in Burma. Security forces hired for this pipeline regularly evicted locals from their land and forced them to work on the pipelines. They were also known to engage in rape, torture and murder of the local populace. These ventures established Dick Cheney as a man that can put personal feelings aside and get the job done.

Bush:
This was the first time in U.S. history that the Supreme Court decided a presidential election. Unfortunately, it was later discovered that over 50,000 Florida citizens, mostly minorities, were illegally kept off the voter rolls under the specific direction of Florida Governor and Bush-brother Jeb Bush, and Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris. A May 2001 U.S. Civil Rights Commission report on the Florida 2000 vote described "widespread voter disenfranchisement". During her duties as the top Florida election official, Katherine Harris also served as co-chair of George W. Bush's Florida campaign. The NAACP successfully sued Harris and the Office of Florida Secretary of State for disenfranchising black voters.

"Reaction from the Bush Administration was swift. All flights within the United States were grounded for several days. The Bush White House then permitted the departure of about 140 Saudis in private planes, including a single flight carrying members of the Bin Laden family to Saudi Arabia in order for them to avoid detainment and questioning. At least one of these flights took place while all other flights were prohibited. Two of these Bin Ladens had known links to a terrorist organization. George W. Bush took this principled stand in order to protect diplomatic allies and family friends. Fifteen of the nineteen hijackers were Saudis."

11. Check this link. The anointing with oil is absolutely TRUE
http://www.guardian.co.uk/bush/story/0,7369,661458,00.html

This is not the first time Mr Ashcroft's subordinates have realised that this attorney general is unlike ordinary politicians. Each time he has been sworn in to political office, he is anointed with cooking oil (in the manner of King David, as he points out in his memoirs Lessons from a Father to His Son).

When Mr Ashcroft was in the Senate, the duty was performed by his father, a senior minister in a church specialising in speaking in tongues, the Pentecostal Assemblies of God. When he became attorney general, Clarence Thomas, a supreme court justice, did the honours.

Edited on Thu Jul-22-04 10:43 PM by NightOwwl
that's for sure.

http://www.bushpresident2004.com/pnac.htm

The "new Pearl Harbor" envisioned by PNAC occurred with the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and killed approximately 3,000 American citizens. Within five hours of the attacks, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld was advising his staff to link Saddam Hussein to the terrorist strikes and to explore the idea of hitting Saddam Hussein at the same time as Osama Bin Laden (see the Donald Rumsfeld page for more information on his efforts to defend America). In a letter to President George W. Bush only nine days later, PNAC urged the removal of Saddam Hussein "even if evidence does not link Iraq directly to the <9-11> attack."

I agree with Radicalliberal, this site is brilliant!

"I've got my own 'Most Wanted' list ... The aces in my deck are Paul Bremer, Donald Rumsfeld, George Bush and Paul Wolfowitz," as told to ABC News.

It's a very clever, very sly Bush-bashing site.

Or... the Bush Campaign is a lot dumber than we thought.

18. yes, check out this paragraph on the redacted 28 pages in the 9/11 report
http://www.bushpresident2004.com/bush-war-on-terror.htm

A congressional report on the September 11th attacks was released in the summer of 2003. Prior to release, the Bush Administration courageously blacked-out 28 pages of the report that dealt with the funding of Al Qaeda by members of the Saudi royal family and close relationships with some of the hijackers.

Most of the Al Qaeda leadership, most of Al Qaeda's funding, and most of the September 11th hijackers came from Saudi Arabia. While these classified pages may expose Saudi Arabia as a country that supports terrorism far more than Afghanistan or Iraq ever did, President Bush knew that the reputation of our oil-rich ally was far more important.
