Awesome Clinton Quote
At some point during this period, President Clinton expressed his frustration with the lack of military options to take out Bin Ladin and the al Qaeda leadership, remarking to General Hugh Shelton,"You know, it would scare the shit out of al-Qaeda if suddenly a bunch of black ninjas rappelled out of helicopters into the middle of their camp."

From the 9/11 Commission Report, p 189

1. That's what Delta Force and other special operations units are for.

Clinton should have sent Delta Force or another special operations unit to grab bin Ladin.

6. Yes they do..
Guess what the repub congress critters reaction would be when our guys took 60-70 percent casualties on even a successful mission. The only sure result would be an intense, close range firefight, virtually in the enemies backyard.

7. Read "Against All Enemies"...
Clarke talks about Pres. Clinton wanting a special forces strike, no more than 100 men to grab a terrorist cell, and how he was told it would need a enourmous force, like a full battallion of rangers... Clinton didn't want to send a thousand men into harms way to capture/kill a dozen, so he called it off.

THEN...

Clarke's talking to a special forces type who complains the Pres. Clinton called off the mission when they were all set... "We go in with a dozen guys, kill a dozen of theirs, capture the three we want. In, out, takes one team and a helicopter but Clinton chickened out." If Clarke is correct, the military LIED to the President of the United States...
