Seriously ... why didn't we get these Flight 93 details a long time ago? |
|
http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/07/22/911.flight.93/index.htmlI'm angry. Why in the world shouldn't we have been allowed to see this transcript of the final moments of Flight 93 a long time ago. What harm would those few lines getting out to the American public have done to any particular investigation?

The battle aboard the plane was burned into history by the story of one passenger, Todd Beamer, who used an onboard phone to call the FBI. At the end of his call, the operator overhead him say to other passengers, "Let's roll."
Maybe that's not what was said, but rather,
"Sixteen seconds later, a passenger yelled, 'Roll it!' " the report says.
Could have been referring to trying to batter the door down with a flight attendant's cart. The "Let's roll" thing helped gear up the nation for war.

too.
Whatever, I am sure a lot of the narrative provided by this administration was their typical puffed up BS.

4. I thought it was one of the only interesting things in the report |
|
I hear they are selling this bungled turkey. I guess they didn't want to give that part away because it might help sales.

It was shot down. Voice recordings be damned, they shot the thing down.

6. Since we can not know it is what we wish to think? |
|
I think it is the wish that all these Americans just did not sit back and die with out a fight. By nature these people will have to become brave, for us.

7. Where is the information from the flight data recorder? |
|
Why can't we have this synched with the cockpit voice recorder like the NTSB has done in many other crashes of interest?

11. I want to edit my statement above. |
|
I just read the report and it does say sounds, although muffled, were heard from outside the cockpit door.
It is interesting that the words "let it roll" were heard. Are the words "Lets roll" some fabrication?

13. There are TWO black boxes. Both were recovered intact. |
|
1) COCKPIT VOICE RECORDER -- records the voices in the cockpit.
2) FLIGHT DATA RECORDER - records the airspeed, altitude and heading as a function of time.
What I'm asking is, why hasn't the information from #2 been released?
If they synched up the information from #2 with the voices heard on #1, it would help explain what was happening with the plane during its last minutes in the air. The NTSB routinely synchronizes these black boxes and releases transcripts indicating the FDR data along with the CVR data. In the past, they've even released flight simulator recreations of the view from the cockpit based on the FDR data. Why hasn't this been done in this case?
