9/11 Report: "Phase II" of war on terror: "OCCUPY IRAQI OILFIELDS"

At the September 17 <2001> NSC meeting, there was some further discussion of "phase two" of the war on terrorism. President Bush ordered the Defense Department to be ready to deal with Iraq if Baghdad acted against U.S. interests, with plans to include possibly occupying Iraqi oil fields. (9/11 Commission Report, p. 335):

Despite growing concerns, U.S. diplomats were willing at the time, as one official said, to “give the Taliban a chance.”14

I don't find that too far fetched ... and it's certainly not as clear of an intention to grab energy as Bush ordering the Pentagon to draw up plan to occupy Iraqi oil fields one week after 9/11.

These issues bother me no end. It reminds me of Dune... he who controls the spice controls the future or some such thing.... You really really need to cast your eyes on this first article... it is quite a remarkable view of how things may have happened to go down and why.

Parallel with the facts carefully laid out below ... is another set of "facts" which are below the surface -- thus less verifiable..... Perhaps they are untrue -- but they are certainly being given broad circulation on the internet. The second set of "facts" has to do with reports that the Bush family (via its prominent role in the Carlyle Group) had advance knowledge of what was coming in the Afghan region -- even before the attack on the Twin Towers of 9-11!!!<<
