3. The senior correspondent traditionally sits front and center
That is where she should be.

I would like to see either the new Press Secrectary or President Kerry himself personally escort Ms. Thomas to that seat.

4. The Venerable Ms. Thomas
has unfortunately retired. And I cannot imagine her allowing herself to be drafted for Press Secretary by anyone.

It is unfortunate that she has retired, as Bush has been able to get away with removing credentials from reporters who ask him embarrassing questions. Like the one in the fall before we attacked Iraq: "Mr. President, how much is this war going to cost?" (Answer) "I'll tell you later."

I am shocked that he was allowed to get away with that but in our desire to get the story we lose sight of the fact that what Bush is doing amounts to censorship. He allows only those who don't ask him hard questions to attend. Of course, as time goes on, all the questions are hard questions.

5. She "retired" from UPI when Moon bought them, but she still
attends the press conferences and occasionallygets called upon.. She STARTED out in front, and Ari/Scott MOVED her to the back so they would not have to call on her.. Petty, vindictive bastards..both.
