Will people actually, voluntarily enter the Free Speech Prison?
Who in their right mind would do this? And, if you have a protest sign, do police have a right to force you into the lockup? Isn't this akin to be detained without a charge for anything? I am very, very upset at the judge who ruled FOR the Free Speech Prison. He said it was against our principles of free speech, but what the hell. I just don't get it, how can he do that. Wouldn't the prudent approach be to KEEP OUR CONSTITUTION IN FORCE and tell the police, "sorry, you've been given the proper tools to keep order, you need to work within the laws just as everyone else does." I think this decision is a travesty.

Another UNREPORTED, largely IGNORED travesty.

3. The judge in Boston ruled on the Free Speech Zone
at the DNC. He agreed it was a bad thing and runs afoul of all things democratic. But that these conventions are known for violence and that public safety must come first.

WHOSE safety? Why not rule that police on horseback cannot club people in the head?

4. And what's with the barb wire????????
Are they trying to keep in the protesters or to keep them out? I wish I had the time to head downtown just to get some photos of the caged masses. And the clown with the anti-DNC sign with the pro Bush slogan says to hell with you. I ain't taking it down. Shouldn't his pizza joint be fenced off? If this crap is happening in Boston, I can't imagine what New York will be like. And the Boston police say they will still picket even though an arbitrator rammed a contract down their collective asses. Cops and firemen........heroes when the government wants to use them as such.........but jerks when contracts are up. Nice! Thanks Mr. Mayor!
