Bush's Arrogance UNMATCHED: READ THIS QUOTE from Robert Byrd Article
Edited on Fri Jul-23-04 11:13 AM by jackstraw45
"I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being the president. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don't feel like I owe anybody an explanation."

- George W. Bush, speaking to Bob Woodward, as quoted in the LA Times yesterday in an article about Robert Byrd's new book.

1. He doesn't owe anyone an explaination?
He's the G-d Damn President! He works for US! WE are the ones who give the son of a bitch a friggin' PAYCHECK! He doesn't owe us an explaination? We'll see.

G-d, I hate him. And I DO mean hate. I've never hated anyone more. :grr:

3. The dimwit has topped even himself in arrogance!
I mean, really, how dare he? How fucking dare he say something like that? He owes us, not the other way around. If there's a hellbound train I want him on it, NOW!

4. To me
one of the scary things about this quote is that it was discussed freely on cable TV during all the hoopla about Woodward's book, and NO ONE seemed bothered by it. :puke:

5. I've heard SO MANY reports of his arrogance - I am sure he is as
hard-headed and ignorant as any red-neck in this country. He is the poster-boy for arrogant-ignorance.

6. To be fair...
Since the people didn't actually elect him, why should he have to answer to them?

7. Again, I wish Kerry/DNC would put bring quote to the American people
A simple quote on a screen would be enough.

And a brief message from Kerry saying that the president is NOT above the law and NOT above the people.

Kerry can NOT make the same mistake Gore did and ASSUME people realize this stuff.

8. Good example of W the straight shooter
He often says exactly what he means.

Before you jump on me, think about it: he goes after exactly who he says he's going to go after (Iraq, now Iran, soon N Korea probably). There's more quotes out there about him wishing he was a dictator than you can shake a stick at.

I think he is honest about his intentions more often than not. His logic and reasoning powers are nonexistent, but he does speak his mind. That's one reason the foxwatchers adore him so. He announces his intention and then he does it. What could be simpler?

Unfortunately, we must be aware that one of his stated intentions is dictatorship. Ignore THAT remark at your peril.
