"Take A Look At My Agenda"
God how dumb can you get???? Who wrote that speech? Kind of sounds like "Read My Lips." I hope to God that we get to watch Smirk walk out in front of the cameras and SMIRK around and then concede....... I know I am just dreaming.. but hey, you have to have faith...... How anybody cannot see through this fraud, is beyond me. Of course, I guess it is just like Bill Maher said, People in the South are STUPID. He is 100% correct. People here in TN are some of the DUMBEST people I have veer seen. All they want to talk about is going to the Church on Sunday, Wednesday and sometimes on friday. Then they want to holler around about how religious Bush is. The only thing I have to say, is that if BUSH STEALS THIS ELECTION again, IT SERVES THESE IDIOTS RIGHT.

1. Welcome to DU
Well, not EVERYONE in the south is stupid but it can seem like that sometimes. There is an English proverb: "The mob has many heads but no brains" -- and you are right about the church thing.

It's like an addiction - they're going 3 and 4 times a week which means there is nothing inside them; same people who drink koolaid at Jim Jones' parties and shoot at federal agents in Waco.

Bush won't steal the election. We are all working very hard to make absolutely certain that can't happen again, even if Tennessee does have more gawd-fearin' fundies than people with brains.

We all know that just because some people are religious doesn't mean that they aren't evil in their own twisted and stupid way. To a fundie it's just not possible to be both evil and religious even when the evidence is right there in front of them. So they don't care if Bush also happens to be a war criminal with the blood of thousands on his hands; just so long as he prays and sways with 'em. Hallelujah!

2. :) Thanks! Yes you are correct
Praise the Lord, Hallelujah!!! George Bush is a born again Christian and all the members of this church need to vote for Bush and he will keep us safe til the rapture........ This is the kind of LIES and DECEIT that goes on in a lot of churches around here. YOur either with us or your against us.... Well, I am totally against Bush and I am not ashamed of it. I can see through anyone's lies........

5. I am embarrassed to live in TN
TN is pathetic....... Most people here make about $20,000 a year and they think that is good money.. They also vote for the Repubs all the time. They are so dumb they don't even know they are voting for someone who is hurting them and keeping them from makiing a decent wage. God give me a northern state to live in....

10. Fiestygrrl, welcome to DU,
and as part of your induction I would like to alert you to a rather sore spot on the collective consciousness that is this forum: South-bashing. Too often, people on this forum let slip a rather nasty bias of the sort that you have expressed in your post. To the many progressives and liberals who hail from the southern half of this country, this is a sharp betrayal.

One time, I posted a rather insensitive remark about a southern state; I immediately followed up with an apology and a question about others' feelings on this subject. The response was overwhelming: a dozen or so DUers, people whom I would never dream of intentionally hurting, immediately posted responses saying that they did indeed feel like fellow DUers had stabbed them in the back.

Since that time, I have added this bias to my long list of personal improvement projects. I am always on alert about generalizations, and if I see it in myself, I immediately correct it--although, I admit, I do still tend to lash out at hardcore conservatives on occasion. I am trying, though, to monitor myself.

Think about individuals, not groups: every person's behavior is influenced by the cumulative experiences of his or her life, and you never know what may be causing a person's actions.

This is not to say, however, that when someone has openly declared war on you, that you should not smack them down: by all means, do. I recommend that you save your energy for when that time comes.

4. Take a look at my agenda...
Edited on Fri Jul-23-04 11:33 AM by UdoKier
it's the only one I've got.

not much of an agenda,
I never seem to get a lot.
Take a jumbo 'cross the water,
like to see America,
see the girls in California.
I'm hoping it's going to come true,
but there's not a lot I can do.

Could we have kippers for breakfast,
Pickles dear, pickles dear ?
They got to hav'em in Texas
'cause er'ryone's a millionaire.
I'm a winner, I'm a sinner.
Do you want my autograph ?
I'm a loser, what a joker.
I'm playing my jokes upon you
while there's nothing better to do.

Ba ba da dow, ba ba dow ba ba, dow di dow di dow.
Ba ba da dow, ba ba dow ba ba, dow di dow di dow.
Na na na, na na na na na na na .

Don't you look at my agenda;
it's the only one I got.
Not much of an agenda,
I never seem to get a lot.
Take a jumbo 'cross the water,
like to see America,
see the girls in California.
I'm hoping it's going to come true,
but there's not a lot I can do.

Ba ba da dow, ba ba dow ba ba, dow di dow di dow.
Ba ba da dow, ba ba dow ba ba, dow di dow di dow.
Hey oh, hey oh, hey oh, hey oh.
Hey oh, hey oh, hey oh, hey oh.
Na na na, na na na na na na na .

you took the long way home,
you took the long way home.

8. * doesn't go to church.

I saw a post here that said * doesn't attend church - he prays in private (=drinks alone in a room 'praying').

Whereas John Kerry attends church every Sunday with wife.

Sorry I don't have a link.

9. Article on * and church - or lack thereof

http://atheism.about.com/b/a/085282.htm

I like the excuses buy * supporters:

1. Security reasons-too disruptive. Clinton went all the time apparently - only took 5 extra minutes for metal detectors.

2. Too busy running the free world. Seriously. They don't have churches in Crawford?

3. "Bush doesn't feel the need to prove how religious he is by attending church. I don't mean to sound like a naïf -- I do realize that most presidential actions have political motivations. But it's just possible that attending church (or not) has nothing to do with trying to show the world how religious you are."
