Reagan's Daughter Praises F 9/11
September 11 either made me love this country or it made me realize how much I already did. I think it’s the latter. Seeing "Fahrenheit 9/11" made me think deeply about love of country—how it molds us, drives and emboldens us and how it can sometimes make us so angry we want to shout out to the world: "No, this is wrong." Many things have been said about the movie, and of course about its director, Michael Moore. But I don’t think I’ve heard anyone comment on Moore’s love for America. It seemed evident to me that the film was born from that love.

1. Yeah! More Reagan legacy letting the world know what Reagan stood
...for and not what Bu$h and the Neo-cons want to have people think Reagan stood for....

Love of country...so true....

3. I know Ron is speaking at our convention, but
it would be great if Patty and Nancy attended to support him.

Kind of like a hat trick!

5. Reagan was a monster and he kicked off this whole neocon nightmare
but I am very glad she spoke out. Reagan is dead and can't hurt anyone anymore.

9. Raygun was a horrible president and very twisted, but he
did not create this bunch, they have always been there. IMHO, he kept them down during his admin. That is why they tried to have him killed. He was their trophy candidate and once he won, they just figured to do away with him and let poppy take over and do then what his weed has done today. Just imagine if raygun had been matryed and poppy had the power his weed acquired due to 9/11. One shudders to think!

Just an opinion.

4. I felt the same way, I thought the Movie was very patriotic.
Only the Fundies and the death core Right wingers say he hates American, in fact... it is they who hate America as they prove it by media sesorship and bill of rights sensorship (Except the 2nd of course) We libs have no problem with the 2nd amendment. They just like to make the dumb think otherwise.

6. Moore has what is known as a "lover's quarrel" with America. . .
which folks like the Rev. William Sloane Coffin consider one of the highest expressions of genuine patriotism.

10. Her statement about "I don't think I've heard anyone comment
on Moore's love for America" - well, I wouldn't say that very many media people have been commenting on Moore's LOVE of America.

Most of the media has been concentrating on saying that Moore "HATES AMERICA".

12. I've met Moore, and I would never bash the USA in front of him

As a Canadian, I know a lot of people who say ugly things about the States. And on his visits up here, I'm sure that Moore has met plenty who are hoping to impress him by slamming Bush even harder than he can. I don't think this pleases him.

I had a chance to speak briefly with him in Vancouver a while back. While he was tired -- it was the middle of a gruelling book tour -- there was a certain fierceness and dignity about him. If I'd been thinking of spouting off about "stupid, evil Americans", he wouldn't have said "you little punk" -- but he would have thought it, for sure -- and I would have been ashamed for the rest of my life.

Instead I mentioned how I'd met some wonderful progressive Americans through the forum on his old website, in particular a retired librarian in Alabama -- his eyes lit up -- and he insisted on signing something for her, with a personal message.

He's polite to Canadians, but I believe that the United States is the true love of his life. If things got really bad down there, I don't think he would come up here even though we'd welcome him. He's the last person I'd accuse of hating his own country.
