911 Commission Final Report, Section 6
http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/22jul20041130/www.gpoaccess.gov/911/pdf/sec6.pdf

"In December, Bush met with Clinton for a two-hour, one-on-one discus=sion of national security and foreign policy challenges.Clinton recalled saying to Bush,“I think you will find that by far your biggest threat is Bin Ladin and the al Qaeda.”Clinton told us that he also said,“One of the great regrets of my presidency is that I didn’t get him for you, because I tried to.”159 Bush told the Commission that he felt sure President Clinton had mentioned terrorism, but did not remember much being said about al Qaeda.Bush recalled that Clinton had emphasized other issues such as North Korea and the Israeli-Palestinian peace process."

Fascinating stuff. Most of it very damning of the Bushistas. Most of the quotes from w*'s testimony make him sound like a high school sophomore explaining to the Dean why he cut class. If you haven't read much of the report yet, I'd recommend Sections 6.4 & 6.5

1. gotta make you wonder why all the smear against Berger
the last few days - this area really hurts * &co. Today's smear (Drudge - of course) is that Berger vetoed attacking Al Qaeda four times over three years.

2. Berger and Clarke both seem like they were on the ball.
On the other hand, Condi comes off as a complete idiot in the end.

5. The initial "no one is blamed" media crap seems to be just that
I read 15 or so pages of the executive summary last night and it wasn't as harmless as I had been lead to believe. W is the incumbent President* so he can't shrug it off. I think as more people read it the guy who will be on the ballot is also the guy whose name is in the book.
