1. Not protected --- ?? What, not protected by being a journalist? |
|
It would be helpful if you actually gave us the whole thought, not some shorthand version.

7. John Dean, on Randi Rhodes, said that a journalist not covered to |
|
protect source when required to testify before a grand jury. Dean also said that due to the sort of security clearance needed, Ms. Plame's identity as a CIA NOC agent would not be bantered about in memos which just anybody at the WH could read.
Dean said that maybe 6 people in the WH had clearance to know about Plame and it would have been simple for bush* to call those few people in for a chat about the outing. Gee, and the shrub didn't take that simple step, but he is gonna get to the bottom of the whole matter
Ooooo Anonymous is on Randi now!

journalists are not protected about revealing sources from a grand jury, maybe because it's proceedings are supposed to be secret, I am not sure. But Dean said he knows two journalists sitting on supoenas now and one of their wives joked she was baking cookies.
He also said that his good sources told him that someone who used to work with Plame in the CIA is now with the NSC and that may be how her identity got into the WH.

3. When does the traitor broadcast? I don't like to watch him but today |
|
might be fun. Last time I swallowed a handful of antacids and watched, he was looking pretty bad. Bet he looks worse today.
Poor baby

5. As a journalist, he shouldn't be forced to reveal his source. |
|
But if his revelation was against the law, he needs to face the consequences.

17. Grand Jury testimony and proceedings are secret and journalists are not |
|
granted the same latitude to protect sources as when they are in public court proceedings.

9. This could be why he hasn't been called, he is a subject of the |
|
investigation.
Whether he should be required to reveal his source is an separate issue entirely from whether he was legally allowed to publish classified information after he was told not to publish. The standard making publication illegal would be pretty high since there are all those technicalities in the Constitution about prior restraint. Who knows?

11. That is a pretty big question |
|
Sure he devulged the name....but did he know it was classified information. This too lets Cheney and possibly Bush off the hook for not doing any thing to prevent the name from being released.

19. So if Novak was told not to go forward |
|
and the CIA must have alerted the White House of the breech in security. Coupled with the fact the story was held for several months.
Ooooooohhhhhh ......... this list of FELONIES and CONSPIRATORS goes on and and on and on and on
This is like sending a dead fish by snail mail.
When it finally arrives it stinks so bad it clears the whole house out

18. I would think the identy of a CIA NOC agent would be known to be |
|
classified. If he didn't know that for sure (unlikely) he damned well should have asked! And ignorance of law is no defense.

|
God I hate that pompous asshole. He is such a dick. I hope he has to spill his guts and give up the right wing whore that spilled the story. I might even watch him on TV after that.
