CNN is saying that the WH says the Pentagon *'s records corroborate |
|
what they had said, that he completed his service and was discharged honorably... but that there are others who still want more information about his service records.

add the very end of her report from the ranch said that Bush people say that the records show he was not around in 1972 for his duties in the Gaurd but that Bush people are saying it proves that he completed his service and got an honorable discharge....it was all stated very quickly at the very end.

10. Sometimes an honorable discharge is given in lieu |
|
of disciplinary action. Sort of like when the president allows a cabinet member to resign gracefully rather than fire him for screwing up. Even if * had fucked up as much as we think he did, there's no way the Texas National Guard was going to hold him accountable, given who his father was. So there might have been a "gentlemen's agreement" that if * would quietly go his way the TANG wouldn't put anything derogatory in his record. No one ever expected Dubya to amount to anything, let alone control the biggest nuclear arsenal in the history of mankind (just thought I'd slip that in).
If the only thing the WH can do is to point to *'s honorable discharge and they can't produce the supporting documents for the time in question, they're screwed. Especially since * won't open the official records he hid at his Dad's library even as he was being sworn in.
What's * trying to hide? Why won't anyone step up to collect Gary Trudeau's reward for anyone who can prove they saw * during the time in quetion? We need to keep his feet to the fire on this. It's not a major issue, but combined with the seven minutes that * choked (thank you for that, Bill Mahrer!) and other things that are in question it might raise a reasonable doubt in the minds of independent voters, and that could be enough to tip the election to Kerry.
They're just trying to hold on until after the election, then they could give a shit what anyone says or finds out.

Stop and imagine the press's reaction to anyone but a Bush admitting that he was AWOL during a war!!
But the freepers and fundies will just continue to stick their fingers in their ears and sing la-la-la......

Everything that comes out of the White House is contradicted by reality.

NG's are highly political. If you have the right connections you can go from a non-com one month to an officer the next; field type commission. When I was in a woman didn't show up for over six months and always at roll call the NCOIC asked, "Has anyone seen Elaine?" Shit, *'s ass will be covered two ways from Tuesday on this. He should go down in flames, but the people who can make it so, won't.

As if * has always admitted he was AWOL for 6 mos. :eyes:
My guess is that these were released in the hopes of staving off the most recent of the AP's FOIA requests. While these are bad, I imagine they pale in comparison to the whole package.

Are whoever is forwarding this info really doing Dumbass a favor? Seems to me that it just brings up the questions all over again. It also seems obvious that Dumbass didn't complete his sworn obligation and the spinning that he was honorable will in the end backfire. Dumbass was and is a shallow, incompetent failure placed into the Presidency only by his crime family's connections.

17. I think the AP's search was ongoing... |
|
they were looking at other record repositories. And you KNOW Rove doesn't want the AP getting their mitts on the FULL set of records. Bushco would have jumped the shark with one more "lost" or "destroyed" set of records. I'm thinking that * OKed the release.
But I'm also pretty happy with the idea of dissension in the Pentagon ranks or piss poor political maneuvering.
