just to be a stickler for detail.

Maybe I should explain what I mean.

If the media as we know it has become a propaganda tool and if media is defined that way, then the campaign is definitely part of the media.

If media is used in an older sense of being a public institution, the press, then the campaign has a part of it that is its own press with press releases etc and is part of the media.

If the public institution definition is too high falutin and the truth is that media is the press that private individuals who can afford to do so create, then the campaign is also media.

So I'll vote I trust the media, because the media is the dialectic of opinion whereas the campaign is one side. Even if it's the side I trust.
